I'm playing on my Mac and I have never seen this color before. It looks like periwinkle and it's perfect. What color is this? Is it only visible on Mac? Can the Mac see extended colors that happen to be correct?
None.
I'd definitely like to research colors for the new patch.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
Shouldn't have added more colors (at least not that I know of from my data mining) but graphics are no longer restricted to any pallete now so it could just be an old color that isn't palleted anymore so looks different.
fuck you all
I think player colors are likely defined by a definite RGB value now, so perhaps extended colors, if they exist at all, are no longer garbage messes of colors but clean looking

Makes sense. Extended colors were buffer overflows where the color index pointed to a random (not actually random - that's why we could predict colors for the most part) point in memory and whatever data this cell contained was the color code. Not matching any of the predefined colors, sc did
something with it.
Now, if sc is expecting a 3-byte RGB value (most common way to achieve 24bit color depth) any value in that 3 "random" data cells would correspond to a certain RGB value, resulting in a clearly defined color.

Okay someone with a lot of free time has to go and map out all the new colours plz and post the results!!
http://sta.sh/024rkcsz50ue Here are my results. It seems to be just pitch black beyond these, and the minimap colors almost never match for any of them. I can't find the shade that OP got in his screenshot (closest match is #90), so perhaps the extended colors are different between operating systems, like before? (I'm on Windows 7.)
The ones I listed with a question mark apparently change color every new game or so. The numbers indicate a slight variation in similar shades... excluding the anthracite shades, as most of them are a tiny bit different from each other.
I already miss the perfect white color that used to be in 137 before 1.18.

Great work man thanks for that.
This is a great resource. If/when I upgrade to 1.18 and beyond, I'll be making use of it. Thanks!
No problem! I think it would be useful if others could check if the colors are the same for them as well (maybe not all of them, but at least some of the nicer ones

), to determine which ones are possibly out of question in terms of consistency.

Did you check all of >135 to verify that there were no more colours? Does anyone have a mac to compare?
I think I went up to 151 or 159, they were all pitch black (except for the minimap colors) so I gave up there. Maybe later I'll continue checking them out, if time allows.

Just here for the activity... well not really
Weren't extended colors always different between PC and Mac?

Yes, and different operating systems too, eg WinXP vs Windows Vista or Windows 7.
It's the presumption that they will again be different, but we've yet to have anyone confirm this.
None.

So basically we need people to test this on different operating systems. pheww that's a lot of work. Offer more mineral reward incentives!
A friend has informed me that the extended colors are different for each tileset. I verified this myself and I confirm. This might explain why I never found the periwinkle color.
I'll be mapping out the colors for each tileset later this week (including their minimap appearance), as well as take a closer look at exactly which numbers change color each new game, or whatever is going on with these.
The Jungle tileset is the one I used to map out the colors above, just for your information.

Awesome. What are the A/B/C variants for?
Just multiple screens of the same colours to see if it is random which many of them are.
None.
Damn, so disappointed at how the colors don't match with my results.

I suppose extended colors will remain largely unreliable.
After a quick glance, 66 and 90 seem to be consistent between tilesets as well as operating systems (so far).
