What's new with your let's plays?
With the wildly-inconsistent quality of my old videos, I have chosen to cull most of my channel, leaving behind only what I deem to be acceptable content. All old content is now unlisted on youtube. If, for some reason, you want to access this content, PM me. This development means all future let's play endeavors can and likely will include repeats of old games, as ideally I'll replace all deprecated videos with newer, better ones.
What was wrong with the old content?
My older commentary was very hit-or-miss. There were times where I would consistently deliver comedic or analytical commentary over long periods of time, and other times where I just wouldn't say anything for minutes on end (or just have nothing interesting to say at all). This has, by and large, been addressed with my more recent attempts at casting/commentating, as I've grown much more comfortable with my environment and have discovered the kind of material I want to riff off of (i.e. not copying mesk all the time). The videos and audio also frequently had problems with them that were simply never addressed (voice too low or too high, video stuttering or out of sync with audio, etc.), and I am taking steps to fix those issues with newer releases.
A word of caution to the viewers should also be extended: the commentary within some older productions (particularly older videos not on the main listing below) contain politically incorrect content.
What about co-casts?
I have cut ties with most of my friends and as I don't think I'll be pursuing any co-casts on any level of frequency. The previous co-casts were recorded when both parties had access to high-quality mics (hehe) and, more recently, webcams, so unless all those boxes are checked and the co-caster is actually charismatic, you won't see any of those lovely productions very frequently.
Are you still let's playing custom content, such as fan-made campaigns?
I am still recording playthroughs of such content, but it is usually recorded specifically for the creator(s) of the projects themselves, especially with regards to unreleased custom content that may be deprecated or in early design stages. I will not publicize these projects unless specifically asked to by the developers. I offer this service to everyone who makes custom campaigns and wants their work reviewed by me. There is a high likelihood that I produce playthroughs of older custom campaigns such as Legacy of the Confederation or Fall From Grace, though such content will be for the express purpose of creating educational resources for the current pool of mapmakers. If there is a project you want reviewed, be it your own or someone else's, feel free to recommend it to me.
What happened to the old primer?
Most of the information from the old primer was understood by everyone already (and also copied from mesk), but I'll keep these smaller notes:
Most of the time I have not played the game before recording an LP. I am usually learning the game as I am recording, unless otherwise stated. There are no re-runs or re-takes unless something happened to the actual recording, which is stated during play and in the LP release notes. All blunders and failings, both of the player and of the game, are part of the end product that you see and experience.
The releases are organised chronologically, starting from the most recent to the most antiquated.

Quote
My moniker is Pr0nogo, and my name is Darion Paone. I'm from the United States. I am a modder, a writer, voice actor, music arranger, and campaign creator. I have spent most of my childhood and all of my adult life experiencing and producing custom content for StarCraft: Brood War, though I have quite a bit of history with WarCraft III and StarCraft II as well. The passion I have for Brood War likely borders on high-functioning autism and has practically consumed my life in a way that would be embarrassing to admit if I were any less obsessed. I have dedicated the last year and the foreseeable future to growing the custom content scene as much as possible, while pursuing my goals of producing and publicizing high-quality SC/WC3/SC2 campaigns and content. Through my extensive time playing and experiencing custom content, I have also branched out numerous times to other games, genres, and developers, and have built a massive knowledge base regarding the design and psychology of video games. Armed with this knowledge and a host of retarded inside jokes, I aim to create entertaining long-form video content that is built around taking a deep, analytical look at video games and their core elements, and creating a discussion around what makes them good, bad, and ugly. I hope you'll come along for the ride, if only to add to the discussion that I hope my content can facilitate.

One of the most pleasant experiences I've had in memory, Doom 2016 is a reboot of the classic FPS franchise of the same name. Its combat and story are unapologetically fast-paced and brutish,

Mass Effect is undoubtedly one of the worst games I've played in the past year. Scrolling down in this thread will reveal just how impactful that statement should be. It wasn't stimulating, intellectually or otherwise. Hopefully the sequel is as good as everyone else claims.

The first let's play to be produced in the post-reddit era, this production of Mirror's Edge is actually the second time I ran the game. The title is incredibly short (no more than 5-6 hours at best), but has some pretty funny moments scattered throughout. I produced a succinct review for this production as well - the first of many to come, if I have my way.

Playlist 3 - Perseus Mandate
F.E.A.R. is an interesting game for sure. The story is obviously retarded, but the mechanics of its presentation and indeed of its gameplay were surprisingly refreshing in many ways. There aren't any audio cues that are noteworthy, and the graphics aren't crazy good even for their time, but the gunplay feels as it should, and the game expects you to think on your feet when introducing new enemies with almost zero introduction. A few bullshit areas aside, the balance is generally in a good state, and I appreciated the game a lot more than I anticipated. Also, tony.

What a fucking disaster this was. A truly unbelievable game lies ahead of you - one Patrick and I experienced in upwards of 4 hours at a time. Every time we thought we were done, there was another fucking insane boss fight or absolute simulation of an encounter waiting around the next corner. Playing Legacy of the Void alone really broke me, but even if it hadn't, I don't think anything could have stopped me from going completely insane as a result of playing this game. It must have taken all the radiation in Japan to make something this abominably retarded.
All videos are in 480p due to twitch being bad, but it is a goldmine of hilarity and insanity. Trigger warnings are for sure in effect for this fucking game.

I had played this when it was released back in 2011. As an ARPG and a sequel to Arkham Asylum, it has some interesting mechanics and visuals, but ultimately relies on stupid slow motion as a core gameplay mechanic, and thus feels more like a quick-time event trainer than a game for much of its running time.

I had played this ARPG over a decade ago when it was first released on the original Xbox, and had a very different memory of this bug-infested, stupid-infested piece of shit. It was still somewhat cathartic, though, so there's always that.
