Rules

Day
1. Vote in the thread in an "I vote X" fashion. Abstain in an "I abstain" fashion. Vote for no lynching in an "I vote No Lynch" fashion.
2. Whoever "wins" the most votes gets lynched. Ties result in multiple "winners."
3. Don't be afraid to make it big, bright, and/or otherwise noticeable. I have notoriously bad eyesight, and I won't take offense.
Night
1. Send your night action (if you have one) via PM in any format that is easily understood.
2. Night actions will all go through; i.e. if a hitman hits a vigilante who is also hitting the hitman, both die.
Ruining the Game
1. No cheating. Don't share accounts. Things in text form (e.g., quoting role PMs) and screenshots and videos are fair game. I'm allowing videos and screenshots, which are traditionally banned, because they are easily doctored in many, many ways.
2. Dead players and non-players should not attempt to influence active games in any way. This is including PMs, shouts, and posting in the thread.
3. Don't ruin the game. For example, if you're mafia and didn't want to be, don't list off your teammates to end the game early.

Roles

Town
Townsperson - The most important role in the game, handed out sparingly.
Bulletproof - The [seemingly] only intelligent member of the town. Dons a bulletproof vest he can use to survive one hit at night, or give to another player.
Doctor - Saving people that theoretically should have died in an unrealistic fashion.
Vigilante - The guy who screws it all up by killing his own team.
Detective - Digging through garbage, talking to neighbors. You know, detective stuff.
Mafia
Mafia - Mafia. Hates town because townpersons call them mean and nasty names.
Godfather - King of the downtrodden; hides in a saferoom all night, paranoid fucker.
Townsperson - The most important role in the game, handed out sparingly.
Bulletproof - The [seemingly] only intelligent member of the town. Dons a bulletproof vest he can use to survive one hit at night, or give to another player.
- Benefaction: Removes his vest, permanently giving it to the target. Bulletproof must still have his extra life. The same night of the transfer, neither is considered to be wearing the vest, and neither benefit.
Doctor - Saving people that theoretically should have died in an unrealistic fashion.
- Protect: Protects the target player from 1 Hit. Applied after a bulletproof's vest, regardless of who is wearing it.
Vigilante - The guy who screws it all up by killing his own team.
- Hit: Kills the target player. Cannot be used on self.
Detective - Digging through garbage, talking to neighbors. You know, detective stuff.
- Investigate: Sees who the target player targets and what night actions the target player is targeted by.
Mafia
Mafia - Mafia. Hates town because townpersons call them mean and nasty names.
- Hit: Attempts to kill the target player. Cannot be used on self.
Godfather - King of the downtrodden; hides in a saferoom all night, paranoid fucker.
- Paranoia: passive. While at least one Mafia is alive, and Coup de Grâce is not used the same night, he is invulnerable at night.
- Coup de Grâce: Usable once per game, the Godfather reveals himself to the town, and kills his target. Cannot be doctored, dodged, saved by vest, and/or any combination. Paranoia is deactivated

Players Banned for This Round
My Responsibilities as Host
1. I will try to post the game post at the deadline. If there are last-minute developments (e.g., a night hit change right before night ends), this is an impossibility, and I'll get it posted as soon as it is ready.
2. I will not comment on the state or progress of the game as it is running.
3. I will not comment on players in regards to the game (e.g., calling someone "mafia scum" in jest) as it is running.
4. I will not post confirmations on any claim made by a player in the thread or other areas of discussion after the game has started.
5. I will clear up any confusion with the rules only if necessary. I will clear up any confusion with your role privately on request.
6. I will not take suggestions from players once the game has started, and the performance of the teams will not impact the mechanics of my game.
7. Though I reserve the right to change the role list prior to the beginning of the game, I will not do so once the game has begun.
How Mafia Works
1. Roles are assigned by Random.org.
2. Mafia know mafia. Townsmen are
3. The game alternates between day and night (game time, not real time). The intro covers the first day (see previous games on how this works), and the actual game begins at night. Days and nights are expected to take approximately 48 hours each.
4. Players may communicate in whatever way they like. Feel free to lie, cheat, and trick people in order to come out on top.
5. The game is intended to be won via behavioral analysis, special roles, and praying a lot.
6. If you have a role with an ability, you get to use it during the Night cycle. The Night typically belongs to the Mafia.
7. During the Day cycle, you get to vote. The Day typically belongs to the Town.
8. The Town's winning condition is when all Mafia players have been eliminated.
9. The Mafia's winning condition is when the Mafia team's vote total for the Day exceeds the max voting capacity of the remaining Town. This condition is candidate-agnostic, and will be satisfied even if the Mafia all abstain or get one of their own lynched.
10. Intentional and explicit violation of any rules will result in an instant kill, as well as a ban from my next game. Ignorance of the rules will not excuse you from this, as I cannot force you to read the rules nor verify that you have done so.
11. To sign-up, just say something indicating your will to play in the thread. You will be added to the next available slot in the player list, and it will be assumed that you have read or are at least somewhat familiar with the rules of Mafia.
12. Once activity checks are issued, sign-ups are closed, no exceptions.
13. Failure to respond to the activity check in time will result in a
14. After activity checks, roles are distributed and the game is considered to be started.
15. By signing up, you agree to play by the rules and spirit of the game.
16. It's the player's responsibility to make their votes and actions clear to the host. A missed/uninterpreted vote or action will not be counted if the respective game post has already been made.
17. Your role will be revealed when you die. Additionally, everyone's roles will be revealed when the game ends.
Clues
1. There will not be clues alluding to the identity of a player that committed a particular action of any sort in this game, though there may be allusions to which faction that player belongs to.
