For some definition of "made it clear", perhaps.
I just quoted the post that was made when the poll was created, and it quite clearly states what voting in the poll means. If you don't know why the poll exists, you shouldn't cast a vote.
Maybe Aristocrat should have done some sort of verification for people voting that didn't sign up initially and voted, but I imagine he didn't do so because he didn't anticipate someone voting ignorantly in a topic they didn't even read. Ultimately, you disrupted the game's balance because of your own negligence; don't try to pin the blame on someone else.
Or maybe the reason you're coming off as silly right now is some sort of wicked strategy where you make everyone think you're inactive when you're really playing quietly in the background... I'm on to you, Lanth.

Please show me all other polls in SEN where voting in them has had any sort of consequence at all. This is highly unusual for a poll to 'mean' anything, and as I pointed out, the poll question was "Are you present?". I was present so I voted yes. There was no indication of consequences in the question.
And no, I genuinely am not playing. As I have a rather powerful role, leaving me inactive and not redistributing the role to someone else who is active will seriously screw up the game. I could have just sat quietly and said nothing and ruined the game; instead I am coming forward, at the very start of the game, so the issue can be resolved.
None.
It's unusual for someone to mark a poll in a mafia thread thinking it was pointless. Especially when it wasn't there before. Did it not occur that the poll must have something to do with the thread's topic? (i.e., mafia)
In any case, there's no fair way to reroll. Either play it out, or don't.
None.

That would be time-consuming on my part to try to find all the polls and determine which ones have consequences. It could be argued that something like
http://www.staredit.net/topic/15470/ has consequences for voting, as a recent example, though. I would be more interested to hear why you think you should be voting in a poll when you did not read the topic it belongs to; polls have context to the topics they are tied to, and this is the reason you should read the topic before casting a vote. You could have at least deduced from the topic being a mafia game that it was related to activity checks, since almost all mafia games do that (though admittedly not in the form of the poll, but still, a connection could have been made). At the very least, you can take this moment to reflect on how rash and seemingly inconsequential actions can impact those around you, and you can develop a philosophy of caution in ways that will prove to be beneficial for you and those you care about. Perhaps it was destiny that you would answer this poll, which will be the turning point of a much larger part of your life than you know.
The game has already started, so it's very unlikely that roles will be re-rolled. Looks like your team (presumably town) is going to have an uphill battle now. If the mafia want to be fair, they can kill Lanthanide on the first night; that's the course of action I would take if I had a killing role.

If the poll said "Activity check: are you active" I wouldn't have voted for that either.
Really what this comes down to is I voted in the poll without know the consequences of doing it. It doesn't matter how you want to apportion the blame: me for not reading multiple posts in the thread to find out what the poll was about, or the poll not being clearer in it's wording/consequences for what it was about.
Either way there is nothing we can do to go back in time and change what happened. What we can do however is react to the issue at hand and come up with a sensible resolution that is best for everyone involved.

IMO, the best resolution for everyone involved is to give my role to someone else. Presumably there are 'filler' roles in the game and giving my role to a player who had such a filler role would be the simplest resolution. I would also suggest that the host is being rather derelict in their duties to just leave the situation as-is and knowingly giving my faction a disadvantage. That's no fair, or fun, for anyone, and is in fact the entire point of having the activity check in the first place. In this case, the way the activity check was handled has lead to a mistake on my part that will seriously undermine the game. Better to fix it than to carry on with a broken game for no reason.
None.
He's suggesting he'll be revealed as Town, which I assume means the Beguiler will be helping him out, or he is the Beguiler, or he's an Illegal.
The original role of an Illegal is revealed in the event of their disconnection. For any starting Illegal, they will receive an additional role which will be used in this manner. Infection status is not made public.
For anyone who isn't aware of what's going on, I performed a reaction test on TiKels for behavioral analysis, and he failed spectacularly.
I will not just vote to lynch TiKels, I will do everything in my power to ensure he dies. No one will overturn the coming bandwagon.
It's night time.
Win by luck, lose by skill.
I see. The intensity of your determination certainly has to mean something.
I should about Roy.
None.
In a brilliant flash of light, Roy was should abouted, never to be seen again.

Man, I told you guys not to should about me. This game is going downhill fast.
I'm done. Forget this game. I hope all three sides lose.
I'm really confused. Is that the Encoder's ability? And is the OP supposed to reflect Roy's role?
Win by luck, lose by skill.
Aristocrat said in the shoutbox it is just a joke...Roy's still alive.
Worst. Host. Evar.
The irony of using a poorly implemented activity check that results in an inactive player being added to the game...
