jjf28 -- memes aside, he just asked if there was a tutorial in this instance, it did not warrant a lecture
[2017-7-19. : 9:56 pm]
jjf28 -- sounds like you and math :P
[2017-7-19. : 9:55 pm]
Dem0n -- jjf28
jjf28 shouted: thekian personally I find these responses a bit toxic *cough nude*, Larwa try the GRP section http://www.staredit.net/topic/110/
he's been told multiple times how to do it. I dont know what else he's expecting other than someone to hold his hand through the entire process, which nobody is going to do
[2017-7-19. : 9:53 pm]
jjf28 -- just outta curiosity

Thank you <3
[2017-7-19. : 9:53 pm]
jjf28 -- what timezone are you in voy?
[2017-7-19. : 9:44 pm]
Voyager7456 -- Try in a couple hours when I get off work and have time to write a comprehensive GRP tutorial :P
[2017-7-19. : 9:43 pm]
jjf28 -- thekian
thekian shouted: Larwa Experiment with modding tools. Figure out what does what. You can't just run over here every time you encounter something new you want to do. You won't really learn anything that way.
personally I find these responses a bit toxic *cough nude*, Larwa
Larwa shouted: Hi, do you have any tutorial for changing unites pictures/images/view etc?
try the GRP section http://www.staredit.net/topic/110/
[2017-7-19. : 9:29 pm]
Dem0n -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: For example, nexus is only 1 frame. Grab a grp from our db and replace the nexus. This will be easier because you need no tester map you can just fireup a melee match as protoss and see your result
Corbo
Corbo shouted: If i am not mistaken the nexus sprite is located in at sprite\unit\protoss\nexus.grp so you will have to add your replacement grp under that name at that adress. I SHOULD BE mistaken so verify that directory.
Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: thing is not always identical to the unit but it is for the nexus, so it's unit\protoss\nexus.grp
[2017-7-19. : 9:28 pm]
Dem0n -- Find out what their file paths are, and make replacement files with the same name and place them under the same path in your mpq
[2017-7-19. : 9:27 pm]
Dem0n -- You have to replace them with mpqs
[2017-7-19. : 9:27 pm]

Larwa -- Hi, do you have any tutorial for changing unites pictures/images/view etc?
[2017-7-19. : 9:13 pm]
Neiv -- Most of an average BW plugin's code would be completely fine C tbh
[2017-7-19. : 9:13 pm]
Moose -- thekian
thekian shouted: Pr0nogo You probably know this already, but also... C is very much not C++.
Ya. C++ makes C bigger but returns the same value. C|X^DDDDDD

thekian -- Just so you don't waste time on the wrong langauge. :3
[2017-7-19. : 9:06 pm]
thekian -- Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: If you manage to get it sorted and slap it onto the limit expander I'd be much obliged, otherwise I'll look into doing it in a few weeks when I start to learn C
You probably know this already, but also... C is very much not C++.
[2017-7-19. : 8:57 pm]
Pr0nogo -- ty
[2017-7-19. : 8:44 pm]
thekian -- Technically it may not be about GPTP specifically, but if not w/e
[2017-7-19. : 8:43 pm]
thekian -- At the bottom of the OP.
[2017-7-19. : 8:43 pm]
thekian -- Corbo uploaded a thread with them. http://www.staredit.net/topic/16964/last/
[2017-7-19. : 8:43 pm]
thekian -- I'm not sure whether it's still up, lemme see.
[2017-7-19. : 8:31 pm]
Pr0nogo -- link?
[2017-7-19. : 8:19 pm]
thekian -- By the way, BroodKiller's GPTP tutorial series covers the C++ you'll need to know, for the most part, for plugin writing.
[2017-7-19. : 7:38 pm]
Pr0nogo -- thanks
[2017-7-19. : 7:38 pm]
Corbo -- I would not in anyway consider myself to know c++ and yet i can make some stuff. So cheers. Gl
[2017-7-19. : 7:38 pm]
Pr0nogo -- i sure hope so haha
[2017-7-19. : 7:37 pm]
Corbo -- Also you will be surprised how little you need to know to make simple plug ins.
[2017-7-19. : 7:37 pm]
Corbo -- Gptp is in C++
[2017-7-19. : 7:37 pm]
Pr0nogo -- C++ right?
[2017-7-19. : 7:36 pm]
Pr0nogo -- or w/e the code is
[2017-7-19. : 7:35 pm]
Corbo -- Why are you learning C?
[2017-7-19. : 7:34 pm]
Pr0nogo -- If you manage to get it sorted and slap it onto the limit expander I'd be much obliged, otherwise I'll look into doing it in a few weeks when I start to learn C
[2017-7-19. : 7:33 pm]
Neiv -- Hm, actually, maybe it isn't too bad to do
[2017-7-19. : 7:33 pm]
Corbo -- And I still need to make my buildable on wall concept
[2017-7-19. : 7:31 pm]
Pr0nogo -- yeah i figured it wouldn't be simple
[2017-7-19. : 7:28 pm]
Neiv -- Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: tunit.pcx
Right, so, requires a bit of annoying code editing since buffers are hardcoded to only have 12 players
[2017-7-19. : 7:27 pm]
Neiv -- have fun =)
[2017-7-19. : 7:26 pm]
Corbo -- Neiv
Neiv shouted: Corbo Yea it's not that complex really, someone should just do it
Neiv
Neiv shouted: not me though
maybe I should try it.
[2017-7-19. : 7:25 pm]
Pr0nogo -- game\tminimap.pcx is for minimap color
[2017-7-19. : 7:25 pm]
Pr0nogo -- tunit.pcx
[2017-7-19. : 7:25 pm]
Neiv -- not me though
[2017-7-19. : 7:25 pm]
Neiv -- Corbo
Corbo shouted: I would just ask fsrty to make the tool for me first xD he would do it in like 5 minutes
Yea it's not that complex really, someone should just do it
[2017-7-19. : 7:24 pm]
Corbo -- Pcolor? Lmao idunno
[2017-7-19. : 7:24 pm]
Corbo -- I would just ask fsrty to make the tool for me first xD he would do it in like 5 minutes
[2017-7-19. : 7:24 pm]
Neiv -- Which pcx file was the player color one
[2017-7-19. : 7:23 pm]
Pr0nogo -- Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: so is there a conventional way to allow sc to read the entire pcx for data?
[2017-7-19. : 7:20 pm]
Neiv -- Since the palettes just are the "default row of 256 colors mixed with blue/red/green of various level of transparency", maybe you could just use some image editor to do it by row by row
[2017-7-19. : 7:19 pm]
Corbo -- That would take even more time than actually making the tileset xD
[2017-7-19. : 7:19 pm]
Corbo -- Neiv
Neiv shouted: No. You can just define every pixel by hand ^^
hell no xD
[2017-7-19. : 7:18 pm]
Neiv -- actually I think someone had made such tool ages ago
[2017-7-19. : 7:18 pm]
Neiv -- No. You can just define every pixel by hand ^^
[2017-7-19. : 7:17 pm]
Pr0nogo -- isn't that what paledit does
[2017-7-19. : 7:17 pm]
Corbo -- Bexpl.pcx and such?
[2017-7-19. : 7:17 pm]
Corbo -- Neiv. Do you have a tool to create tileset palletes. The ones used to calculate the transparency?
[2017-7-19. : 7:17 pm]
Pr0nogo -- so is there a conventional way to allow sc to read the entire pcx for data?
[2017-7-19. : 7:17 pm]
Corbo -- Neiv
Neiv shouted: menus use the palette that is set in the background .pcx of specific screen, those are fun
this. Its hilarious xD
[2017-7-19. : 7:16 pm]
Pr0nogo -- yeah bin editing those is garbage
[2017-7-19. : 7:16 pm]
Neiv -- menus use the palette that is set in the background .pcx of specific screen, those are fun
[2017-7-19. : 7:15 pm]
Neiv -- the color palettes are defined in tileset\ashworld.wpe etc anyways, they're simple to edit
[2017-7-19. : 7:15 pm]
Pr0nogo -- this is cyan in-game
[2017-7-19. : 7:15 pm]
Pr0nogo -- Neiv
Neiv shouted: And I'm pretty sure all colors are used? The last few just depend on tileset and the ones that are *sometimes* used by player colors otherwise have color cycling colors
http://i.imgur.com/6ZKqk5I.png
[2017-7-19. : 7:14 pm]
Corbo -- Neiv
Neiv shouted: And I'm pretty sure all colors are used? The last few just depend on tileset and the ones that are *sometimes* used by player colors otherwise have color cycling colors
the last rows are filled with blues and blacks. They are tileset crap but this is 2017. No one needs blending :hurr:
[2017-7-19. : 7:14 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- Pr0nogo
Pr0nogo shouted: If you make a map where you set a player's color to cyan in default SCMDraft with no mods, it shows up correct in the editor but incorrect in-game
The game has color data defined for 16 colors, but only loads 12 of those for whatever reason
[2017-7-19. : 7:13 pm]
Corbo -- The real issue would be forcing sc not to map those 7 indexes to player colors
[2017-7-19. : 7:13 pm]
Neiv -- And I'm pretty sure all colors are used? The last few just depend on tileset and the ones that are *sometimes* used by player colors otherwise have color cycling colors
