The latter, as you say, I can see being useful for lag on complex maps. A whole bunch of unnamed locations keep showing up in my location list on the left. If I click on them, the viewscreen freezes on the current display and refuses to update without force-quitting SCMDraft. I can delete the locations and everything still works, but the viewer doesn't update at all.
