[2017-10-24. : 1:07 am]
DankBudSmoker -- your right, euds are riskier and a bigger threat than map protection
[2017-10-24. : 1:06 am]
jjf28 -- oh haell no
[2017-10-24. : 1:05 am]
Moose -- Gonna have to set up PKI certificate chain to have SC play maps soon LMAO
[2017-10-24. : 1:05 am]
Moose -- Gonna have to put digital signatures on your maps to have them be playable soon LMAO
[2017-10-24. : 1:03 am]
Moose -- I'd say all the extended memes for years were more of a corruption than protection, given that SC can still read the map while the other can crash shit or even arbitrarily execute code, but that's just like, my opinion, man LMAO
[2017-10-24. : 1:02 am]
jjf28 -- I hesitate to even call opening someomes map a security issue
[2017-10-24. : 1:01 am]
jjf28 -- DankBudSmoker
DankBudSmoker shouted: would you want people modifying your game files with 3rd party programs out of asia?
EUDs and map protection are on wildly different levels, map protection guards.. a map, there's plenty of debate as to whether that's even ethical, EUDs allowed mappers to run arbitrary executable code on the targets computer
[2017-10-24. : 12:56 am]
DankBudSmoker -- starcraft map locker project can crash winmpq
[2017-10-24. : 12:55 am]
DankBudSmoker -- winmpq may or may not
[2017-10-24. : 12:55 am]
DankBudSmoker -- depends on the mpq program used
[2017-10-24. : 12:55 am]
Moose -- It doesn't know staredit/scenario.chk by default? LMAO
[2017-10-24. : 12:55 am]
jjf28 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: I even opened it in winmpq to extract the chk but I didn't see it there O_O
I kinda doubt winmpq is just using the simple base mpq methods so they might have found a way to crash winmpq, but yea you can try a listfile
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
DankBudSmoker -- just google starcraft listfile
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
DankBudSmoker -- its there u need a listfiel
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
DankBudSmoker -- smc is trash
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
DankBudSmoker -- compared to knowing hex and having some talent
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
lil-Inferno -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Did Bisu really drag select probes at start instead of control clicking? No wonder he lost.
I thought everyone drag selected
[2017-10-24. : 12:54 am]
DankBudSmoker -- SMC is the best unprotector but
[2017-10-24. : 12:53 am]
Dem0n -- I mean I just tried using the unprotectors. I don't know how to do it any other way
[2017-10-24. : 12:53 am]
Dem0n -- I tried LMAO
[2017-10-24. : 12:53 am]
jjf28 -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: we've tried unprotecting the korean maps before and nothing works
who did? sounds like they're not trying hard enough, use blizzard's methods for extracting the chk and write good parser code
[2017-10-24. : 12:53 am]
DankBudSmoker -- i just dont have the skills
[2017-10-24. : 12:53 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]
DankBudSmoker -- no
[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]
Moose -- Are people here getting mad at you for trying to translate maps? (distinct from not giving you tools to do so)
[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]
DankBudSmoker -- was a lost cause form the start
[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]

DankBudSmoker -- would you want people modifying your game files with 3rd party programs out of asia?
[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]
Dem0n -- even if it wasn't against the rules, you won't be able to unprotect those maps
[2017-10-24. : 12:52 am]
DankBudSmoker -- it is though
[2017-10-24. : 12:51 am]
DankBudSmoker -- this website
[2017-10-24. : 12:51 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:51 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:51 am]
jjf28 -- DankBudSmoker
DankBudSmoker shouted: its a security issue
it is a major issue DankBudSmoker
DankBudSmoker shouted: blizz agree with maps being protected but they are against the way its being done rn for the same reason they are against EUDS
DankBudSmoker
DankBudSmoker shouted: its not in the end because

[2017-10-24. : 12:51 am]
DankBudSmoker -- oh its gonna be aha
[2017-10-24. : 12:50 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:50 am]
DankBudSmoker -- blizz agree with maps being protected but they are against the way its being done rn for the same reason they are against EUDS
[2017-10-24. : 12:49 am]
DankBudSmoker -- its not in the end because
[2017-10-24. : 12:48 am]

[2017-10-24. : 12:47 am]
DankBudSmoker -- anything else violates tos

[2017-10-24. : 12:45 am]
Moose -- DankBudSmoker
DankBudSmoker shouted: Protecting maps violates blizzards TOS
Is this interpretation one that you determined yourself by looking at the TOS or something that someone from Blizzard has put in writing? If the latter, I'd like a source.
[2017-10-24. : 12:45 am]
