Psychic_Genius shouted: Hello guys. Hey do you remember Tuxedo-Templars map Rush? do you guys know the passwords for unlocking 2 players or any other passwords? where do i find them?
I think that password is ACDC
[2018-2-05. : 2:25 am]
jjf28 -- got google tests working, though a ton of my UI is probably going to be untestable till I knock out the current singleton/manual refresh framework
[2018-2-05. : 1:59 am]
Psychic_Genius -- Hello guys. Hey do you remember Tuxedo-Templars map Rush? do you guys know the passwords for unlocking 2 players or any other passwords? where do i find them?
[2018-2-04. : 9:32 pm]
jjf28 -- I guess one option might be to add references too all the main project files in the test project... it would be compiling separate from running regularly but I suppose that's not a huge problem
[2018-2-04. : 9:00 pm]
jjf28 -- getting nowhere with the google tests :/ they don't want to run against a project setup to compile as an exe, and compiling as a library (which is a not an insignificant amount of work and re-compile time) results in numerous unresolved externals and a nasty iterator debug level error
[2018-2-04. : 8:55 pm]
Lanthanide -- damn, too used to discord, can't fix up my typos :P
[2018-2-04. : 8:54 pm]
Lanthanide -- which is annoying if you rename a function and then suddenly your tests all fail
[2018-2-04. : 8:54 pm]
Lanthanide -- the compiler doesn't understand either - because you can replace a function with one that doesn't exist, and the compiler won't catch it, it's only at run-time that you find out
[2018-2-04. : 8:54 pm]
Lanthanide -- I don't know what sourcery it uses
[2018-2-04. : 8:54 pm]
Lanthanide -- something you can't otherwise do in C
[2018-2-04. : 8:54 pm]
Lanthanide -- it lets you dynamically replace functions with other functions during execution
[2018-2-04. : 8:04 pm]
Moose -- More than just not stripping debug symbols?
[2018-2-04. : 8:03 pm]
Lanthanide -- Nova Prova actually does some clever compiler trick so that it can have reflection-like behaviour
[2018-2-04. : 8:03 pm]
Lanthanide -- I expect C++ will have more options available
[2018-2-04. : 8:02 pm]
Lanthanide -- we use Nova Prova at work, but that's for C
[2018-2-04. : 5:11 pm]
Wormer -- looks like I'm a bit late to the party :-)
[2018-2-04. : 5:10 pm]
Wormer -- jjf28, have you looked into Catch2 ?
[2018-2-04. : 3:56 pm]
jjf28 -- any recommendations for C++ unit tests? otherwise I'm prolly going with https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/test/how-to-use-google-test-for-cpp

Freakling -- Roy
Roy shouted: Sprite or sprite unit; I vaguely recall one of those showing up in-game.
Pre-placing them as pure sprites definitely works. It cannot be selected or manipulated (at least not with standard triggers) afterwards, obviously.
[2018-2-04. : 7:16 am]
jjf28 -- day is over

Septhiroth -- Wait blocks*
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Lanthanide -- note however, that they didn't update its graphics for SC:R, so it's pixelly and blurry
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Septhiroth -- I am here to preach that wait are the devil’s making! And they should cleansed from the earth
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Lanthanide -- I've done it
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Lanthanide -- as the little dish waving back and forth
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Lanthanide -- it is perfectly possible to make another unit look like a map revealer though, and be able to see it in-game
[2018-2-03. : 11:09 pm]
Lanthanide -- Res - Map Revealers seem to have some funky hard-coded behaviour
[2018-2-03. : 10:32 pm]
Roy -- Sprite or sprite unit; I vaguely recall one of those showing up in-game.
[2018-2-03. : 10:31 pm]
Roy -- Doesn't the sprite unit stay visible or something?
[2018-2-03. : 10:14 pm]
jjf28 -- I imagine the sprite is loaded into memory and changing the graphic to it would be possible if EUDs supported changing the spriteId somewhere
[2018-2-03. : 10:09 pm]
Resguy -- is there a way to have a physical Map Revealer in game?
[2018-2-03. : 10:09 pm]
Resguy -- hey, general question

jjf28 -- isn't it fun when you specify the java version in your POM but it uses the version from anywhere but? :)
[2018-2-03. : 7:46 pm]
Ahli -- solved eclipse's wrong error markers: add JRE VM to eclipse's installed VM settings... I compile and run with the JDK, but it somehow needs to know a reference to an installed JRE.
[2018-2-03. : 6:06 pm]
Ahli -- *match their signature :S
[2018-2-03. : 4:44 pm]
Ahli -- it can also happen if your download is corrupted. I had it yesterday evening after clearing the cache. 2 jars did not match their dependency. Worked after redownloading those. =/
[2018-2-03. : 4:37 pm]
jjf28 -- Ahli
Ahli shouted: oh, and I love it when maven's downloads are corrupted and you manually have to remove the file and manually trigger the thing again. I wish it would verify after the download and try a second time if its signature doesn't match.
that happens at my work a lot when someone doesn't change the POM version
[2018-2-03. : 4:29 pm]
Ahli -- oh, and I love it when maven's downloads are corrupted and you manually have to remove the file and manually trigger the thing again. I wish it would verify after the download and try a second time if its signature doesn't match.
[2018-2-03. : 4:25 pm]
Ahli -- mature versions get better, but then they release a new one because the next java update arrived... then it's hell again. Developping web apps with wildfly was fun. Things kept corrupting itself and something always did not run properly on someone's laptop.
[2018-2-03. : 4:24 pm]
Moose -- Wasn't Java terrible in 2004? Java 1.5 only came out that year.
[2018-2-03. : 4:21 pm]
Suicidal Insanity -- I remember eclipse being terrible back in 2004 .... I would have expected it to either die off or get better
[2018-2-03. : 4:11 pm]
lil-Inferno -- no one should be using Eclipse in 2018 imo
[2018-2-03. : 4:11 pm]
