[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
DevliN -- So who knows.
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
DevliN -- Most friends of mine lived on campus in a dorm for the first year (which may have been mandatory) and then moved out to apartments for the remaining years.
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
Jack -- sweg yulo
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
lil-Inferno -- C|X^ D
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
lil-Inferno -- Won't stop me from wrecking pussy.
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
Jack -- Ah ok, you're flatting, that's cool then
[2014-8-29. : 10:53 pm]
lil-Inferno -- two of my friends and one guy I don't know very well yet.
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
lil-Inferno -- I'm not living in a dorm. I'm in a house with
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Jack -- Lanthanide, you can learn at uni but it's just really slow compared to self-learning for the majority of disciplines
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Wing Zero --
Jack shouted: I don't know how much of a stereotype it is but "out on your own" in the USA from what I've heard basically means going to live in a dorm and getting wasted all the time and basically living irresponsibly. It wouldn't be too bad if you were flatting with some friends, then you've got some responsibility still, but even then with no one to watch out for you I'd say most young people would tend to go a bit craycray
Jack  Well that would be the entire reason for it yes
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Jack -- Inferno I know, I just assumed that was what demon meant when he said dorm life = social life
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Lanthanide -- good luck with your job!
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Lanthanide -- get a piece of paper to get a job but not actually learn anything? um...
[2014-8-29. : 10:52 pm]
Fire_Kame -- "two years"
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
Dem0n -- lol why the fuck are you lecturing us on college, as if we haven't already been attending for two years?
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
lil-Inferno -- I'm not a retard, Jack.
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
DevliN -- From my experience, though, the people I know still living at home have no desire to leave and become responsible for themselves because it is cheaper and easier that way
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
Jack -- Inferno, college is for getting a bit of paper that will help you get a job, and it's also for the contacts you make while there. It's not so much for actual learning (well, you can learn but it's really slow).
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
lil-Inferno -- You don't need to get wasted all the time to have a social life.
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
Dem0n -- It's pretty hard. You don't get to socialize much in class (if at all) since the teacher is always talking, and then if you commute, there's not many chances for you to meet people, unless you go to events and join clubs.
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
DevliN -- So it can go either way.
[2014-8-29. : 10:51 pm]
DevliN -- I have plenty of friends who still live at home and don't understand responsibility, and plenty of friends who went to college and partied who then learned why that was bad and got their shit together.
[2014-8-29. : 10:50 pm]
Jack -- you can have a social life without living in a dorm
[2014-8-29. : 10:50 pm]
Jack -- Social life? You mean getting wasted at parties? eh, pass
[2014-8-29. : 10:50 pm]
Dem0n -- You have a social life.
[2014-8-29. : 10:49 pm]
Jack -- DevliN yeah but better to learn responsibility without the downside of going off the rails, right? You waste so much time and don't really gain much by going and partying and stuff
[2014-8-29. : 10:49 pm]
Dem0n -- :awesome:
[2014-8-29. : 10:49 pm]
Jack -- I don't know how much of a stereotype it is but "out on your own" in the USA from what I've heard basically means going to live in a dorm and getting wasted all the time and basically living irresponsibly. It wouldn't be too bad if you were flatting with some friends, then you've got some responsibility still, but even then with no one to watch out for you I'd say most young people would tend to go a bit craycray
[2014-8-29. : 10:49 pm]
lil-Inferno -- I'm only like half an hour away, I just wanted to experience living away from family since I commuted the first two years. Didn't get the college experience, y'know?
[2014-8-29. : 10:49 pm]
DevliN -- You can learn a lot by going off the rails with no responsibility. Perhaps it would teach you to become responsible, even.
[2014-8-29. : 10:48 pm]
Wing Zero -- Cheaper absolutely, but imo you really need a taste of what its like to be out on your own
[2014-8-29. : 10:47 pm]
Jack -- Staying with family is almost always going to be better financially, and usually is in terms of not going off the rails when you're at a dorm with no responsibility and no one watching out for you
[2014-8-29. : 10:46 pm]
Jack -- Isn't better to stay with family? O_O
[2014-8-29. : 10:45 pm]
Wing Zero -- I would argue that it isnt. But only if you have enough money
[2014-8-29. : 10:44 pm]
Jack -- Taht sux, much better if you can stay with family
[2014-8-29. : 10:44 pm]
Jack -- Oh yeah in the USA you usually go to like other states and stuff for uni don't you
[2014-8-29. : 10:44 pm]
Jack -- Moving out?
[2014-8-29. : 10:43 pm]
Wing Zero -- This quote box thing looks reversed for some reason.
[2014-8-29. : 10:42 pm]
lil-Inferno -- I probably won't be able to attend a map night for a while. I'm moving out on Sunday and then I'll be at college for three months C|:^ O
[2014-8-29. : 10:41 pm]
Wing Zero -- Lol im the only one that broke even on the boxes this time. Everyone else either lost or gained minerals
[2014-8-29. : 10:38 pm]
Wing Zero -- We can get 10 boxes now?
[2014-8-29. : 10:32 pm]
payne -- or possibly sunday
[2014-8-29. : 10:32 pm]
payne -- tuesday sounds good to me!
[2014-8-29. : 10:31 pm]
Wing Zero -- Ok the global shoutbox is fine but on the regular one sometimes i still wouldnt be able to shout anything because instead of getting the keyboard it would attempt to highlight it instead
[2014-8-29. : 10:28 pm]
Jack -- tuesday for me, monday for pretty much everybody else except any koreans here
[2014-8-29. : 10:28 pm]
Jack -- welllll I can't until next monday night
[2014-8-29. : 10:28 pm]

[2014-8-29. : 10:28 pm]
payne -- get organized.

[2014-8-29. : 10:25 pm]
payne -- oh shi- map night tonight?
[2014-8-29. : 10:23 pm]
lil-Inferno -- I have to leave soon.

[2014-8-29. : 10:21 pm]
Devourer -- Fixed redirection on "?file=xxx" links
[2014-8-29. : 10:19 pm]
Jack -- http://www.staredit.net/sc1db/file/2982/ let's go guys, useast channel donuts gogo
[2014-8-29. : 10:19 pm]
Jack -- http://www.staredit.net/?file=2982 doesn't work, might be worth putting in a redirect to the new DLDB? I don't know.
[2014-8-29. : 10:18 pm]
Jack -- Who's up to play some galactic conquest?
[2014-8-29. : 10:16 pm]
Jack -- Yup that's good! <3
[2014-8-29. : 10:16 pm]
Devourer -- done
[2014-8-29. : 10:15 pm]
Jack -- Oh yup, I think the first one is better, go back to that.
[2014-8-29. : 10:15 pm]
Devourer -- reuploaded the other one now again
[2014-8-29. : 10:14 pm]
Jack -- Highly linear, which makes things easier in some ways
[2014-8-29. : 10:14 pm]
Jack -- I have a semi-complete, pretty systemically functional map which is quite awesome although it currently only has 5 mins gameplay if I speedrun it
[2014-8-29. : 10:14 pm]
Jack -- We should have another RPG mapmaking contest!
[2014-8-29. : 10:12 pm]
Jack -- Are you sure you uploaded the correct one? Looks the same to me too if I zoom in T_T
[2014-8-29. : 10:11 pm]
Devourer -- looks the same though
[2014-8-29. : 10:11 pm]
Devourer -- Done
[2014-8-29. : 10:10 pm]
