[2014-9-25. : 3:57 am] jjf28 -- tower of dream was fun; groups games are nice but i'm out of directed attention for the day[2014-9-25. : 3:43 am] copboner -- any maps you guys recommend? or would anyone like to group up and play something? i'm down for anything.[2014-9-25. : 3:04 am] Zoan -- That was ambiguous, right? Like you could read that and think that moose was a killer who had found his next victim?[2014-9-25. : 2:47 am] Moose -- This could be a close encounter! I should take care not to flounder, sends me into hyperspace, when I see her pretty face[2014-9-25. : 2:47 am] Moose -- She said step in my transporter, so I can teleport you, all around my heavenly body[2014-9-25. : 2:47 am] Moose -- It's a distant solar system, I tried to phone but they don't list 'em, so I asked her for her number all the same[2014-9-25. : 2:46 am] Moose -- I'm scanning all my radars, well she said she's from a quasar, forty thousand million light years away[2014-9-25. : 2:38 am] Moose -- Do I have to go star-trekking? Cuz it's you I should be checking, so she laser beamed me with her cosmic eyes[2014-9-25. : 2:38 am] Moose -- Like some baby Barbarella, with the stars as her umbrella, she asked me if I'd like to magnetize[2014-9-25. : 2:37 am] Moose -- Right across from where I'm standing, on the dance floor she was landing, it was clear that she was from another time[2014-9-25. : 2:37 am] Moose -- I must have died and gone to heaven, cause it was quarter past eleven, on a Saturday in 1999[2014-9-25. : 2:00 am] Zoan -- Oh hey, I guess now's a good time to play all those single player SC games lol[2014-9-25. : 12:13 am] Moose -- Yeast, your time has come, the age of mold is at hand! Moldy breadboards shall build our armies![2014-9-25. : 12:08 am] jjf28 -- because I wanted to kill more yeast on the off chance that it's sentient[2014-9-25. : 12:07 am] Moose -- Why would you make a motherboard out of bread? Heat resistance so it can bake?[2014-9-25. : 12:07 am] jjf28 -- or was that what he called it... the professor named it in an necessarily complex fashion[2014-9-25. : 12:06 am] jjf28 -- think the most in-depth thing I build was an asynchronous alternator to provide a clock for a program made on a breadboard, oh man that was a nightmare[2014-9-25. : 12:02 am] jjf28 -- create your own universe in which to assemble those transistors like a man.[2014-9-25. : 12:01 am] jjf28 -- machine code? pff, learn to assemble your programs with transistors like a man.[2014-9-24. : 11:54 pm] Moose -- Learn the inne workings of the CPU, so you can write in machine code like a man.[2014-9-24. : 11:09 pm] Devourer -- JackJack shouted: If you're only doing programming then it doesn't really matter, but it's good to be aware of the fundamentals of how the CPU works. agreed[2014-9-24. : 11:06 pm] Jack -- If you're only doing programming then it doesn't really matter, but it's good to be aware of the fundamentals of how the CPU works.[2014-9-24. : 11:06 pm] Jack -- You use adders to build other circuits. Like an adder with lookahead is built from multiple adders, and you can use it to add longer multiple-bit numbers together. The CPU uses those to perform mathematical operations.[2014-9-24. : 10:59 pm] Dem0n -- JackJack shouted: half adder is an add without the carry if I recall correctly. A full adder takes inputs A and B, and outputs C and D. C = 1 if A or B = 1, D = 1 if A AND B are 1 yeah but what's the purpose of that in computer science[2014-9-24. : 10:50 pm] Jack -- So, if A + B + Cin = 2 or 3, then Cout = true. If A + B + Cin = 3, then D is also true. If A + B + Cin are 1 or 0, then Cout = false, D = result of A + B + Cin[2014-9-24. : 10:49 pm] Moose -- Dem0nDem0n shouted: yo wtf is a half/full adder lol stupid computer scientist[2014-9-24. : 10:49 pm] Jack -- A B Cin and D have the value of 1, Cout has the value of 2 in decimal.[2014-9-24. : 10:48 pm] Jack -- Ah, wikipedia says full adders take carry in. So, inputs are A B and Cin, outputs are D and Cout.[2014-9-24. : 10:47 pm] Jack -- Wait but that's not correct, if A and B are 1, and there's no carry input, then C = 0 and D = 1[2014-9-24. : 10:47 pm] Jack -- half adder is an add without the carry if I recall correctly. A full adder takes inputs A and B, and outputs C and D. C = 1 if A or B = 1, D = 1 if A AND B are 1[2014-9-24. : 10:44 pm] Generalpie -- I hate it when I'm doing something intensive, and forget to put a -v switch to make sure the process didn't hang |
