[2016-5-28. : 4:22 am]
Corbo -- the beam itself had nothing
[2016-5-28. : 4:22 am]
Corbo -- the problem was that
[2016-5-28. : 4:22 am]
Corbo -- YEAH, THAT.
[2016-5-28. : 4:22 am]
TiKels -- That doesn't sound 12 hours bad ...
[2016-5-28. : 4:21 am]
TiKels -- Shear flow, shear center, rate of twist
[2016-5-28. : 4:21 am]
Corbo -- I remember we had to calculate the moment, wether it was a bending moment and how much did the beam bend and some other stuff about it.
[2016-5-28. : 4:21 am]
TiKels -- I wanted to know if was substantially different from what I studied
[2016-5-28. : 4:20 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- 1 load
[2016-5-28. : 4:20 am]
TiKels -- :(
[2016-5-28. : 4:20 am]
Corbo -- Well, I don't remember much about the excercise really.
[2016-5-28. : 4:20 am]
Corbo -- that's all the math related subjects I had
[2016-5-28. : 4:19 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: But what kind of loads were on the beam :(
1
[2016-5-28. : 4:19 am]
Corbo -- and before that vectorial algebra
[2016-5-28. : 4:19 am]
Corbo -- one subject called static, which is pre-structures.
[2016-5-28. : 4:19 am]
TiKels -- But what kind of loads were on the beam :(
[2016-5-28. : 4:19 am]
Corbo -- 3 engineering structures class and 2 architecture ones.
[2016-5-28. : 4:18 am]
Corbo -- Then I had one physics class
[2016-5-28. : 4:18 am]
Corbo -- Revolution solids, integration, trigonometric integration, double logarythmic integration or whatever you spell that :P
[2016-5-28. : 4:18 am]
Corbo -- I didn't have many maths per se. I just had two. the second one was what you guys call calculus. Pretty basic one I think, though.
[2016-5-28. : 4:17 am]
Corbo -- well, mine was :P
[2016-5-28. : 4:17 am]
TiKels -- What kind of loads on the beam
[2016-5-28. : 4:17 am]
Corbo -- um.. somewhat, actually
[2016-5-28. : 4:17 am]
Corbo -- Not really.
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
TiKels -- Is architecture usually so math intensive?
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
Corbo -- and the problem was to solve a fucking steel beam. one.
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
Corbo -- I studied architecture btw
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
Corbo -- I got 3.5 out of 10. Luckily I had already passed that subject.
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
TiKels -- Hahaha no shit really?
[2016-5-28. : 4:16 am]
Dem0n -- Good for you!
[2016-5-28. : 4:15 am]
Corbo -- Didn't get me any points, though. We all failed that exam
[2016-5-28. : 4:15 am]
Corbo -- "Good for you, you're smart kid"
[2016-5-28. : 4:15 am]
*Corbo raises hand*
[2016-5-28. : 4:15 am]
Corbo -- "okay, who slept?"
[2016-5-28. : 4:15 am]
Corbo -- "no"
[2016-5-28. : 4:14 am]
lil-Inferno -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: Kk comatoast
>Still shouting anyway >SMH
[2016-5-28. : 4:14 am]
Corbo -- when we got on sunday he was like "could any of you solve it?"
[2016-5-28. : 4:14 am]
Corbo -- So they made a group and didn't sleep trying to solve it (we were 6 in that class) me and a friend just decided to fuck it and sleep like kings :P
[2016-5-28. : 4:14 am]
TiKels -- I had a professor just walk out on us during our final. In a computer lab. With us just using the computers freely
[2016-5-28. : 4:13 am]
Corbo -- I shit you not he literally told us to take the final home
[2016-5-28. : 4:13 am]
Corbo -- he said "ok, you can take it, see you tomorrow"
[2016-5-28. : 4:13 am]
Corbo -- So yeah, we all agreed to go back on sunday morning
[2016-5-28. : 4:12 am]
Corbo -- He then said, but remember EVERYONE must agree to come tomorrow or else there is no choice but turning it in right now.
[2016-5-28. : 4:12 am]
TiKels -- Jesus Christ what kind of structure is this
[2016-5-28. : 4:12 am]
Corbo -- so after 12 hours at around 6PM he said "yeah, uh, guys, I have two options for you, I really have to go now, so we can come back tomorrow (a fucking sunday) or if you don't want to just turn it in right now and I'll check them as they are right now".
[2016-5-28. : 4:12 am]
TiKels -- I had two exams that day too. Those two classes were the hardest in my dept
[2016-5-28. : 4:11 am]
TiKels -- My structures professor gave us a 3-4 hour final. Ughhhh
[2016-5-28. : 4:10 am]
Corbo -- The teacher called for pizza so we could have lunch in there, at one point in the afternoon we were all discussing how to do the exam and he didn't even care. Like he was right there just minding his business
[2016-5-28. : 4:10 am]
TiKels -- What'd you study again corbo?
[2016-5-28. : 4:09 am]
Corbo -- It was my most tiring and yet the most awesome exam ever at the same time.
[2016-5-28. : 4:08 am]
Corbo -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: I took a class on structures. We had to do like 40 pages of calculations for homework problems. The problems were so long that you'd teach yourself as you go, but by the time you finished a problem you forget how to do the beginning of it
I took 5 of them. I remember I had a final on a saturday morning at 6AM. The exam was not two, not three, not four, not even five. It was one. One. mother. fucking. excercise. One.
[2016-5-28. : 4:08 am]
TiKels -- That's a shitty GPA imo
[2016-5-28. : 4:04 am]
lil-Inferno -- TiKels
TiKels shouted: I care more about how hard someone is willing to work
TiKels
TiKels shouted: I have like a 3.7 average and it doesn't mean shit
>Say you don't care about grades >Humbly brag about your grades immediately after >SMH
[2016-5-28. : 4:04 am]
TiKels -- Kk comatoast
[2016-5-28. : 4:03 am]
TiKels -- So you'd start number two and go "fuck how do I start this problem?"
[2016-5-28. : 4:02 am]
TiKels -- It was insane and hilarious. Like wow I just did this... oh I guess that was 6 hours ago.
[2016-5-28. : 4:01 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- also it's hard to answer because of course I'll say I'd do great at trying to focus on something frustrating or difficult
[2016-5-28. : 4:01 am]
TiKels -- I took a class on structures. We had to do like 40 pages of calculations for homework problems. The problems were so long that you'd teach yourself as you go, but by the time you finished a problem you forget how to do the beginning of it
[2016-5-28. : 4:00 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- My job is the epitome of mundane, and I do great at it :P
[2016-5-28. : 4:00 am]
TiKels -- Dunno. Something mundane/frustrating/difficult
[2016-5-28. : 3:59 am]
TiKels -- The more you flex that muscle the easier it gets
[2016-5-28. : 3:59 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- work on what/doing what?
[2016-5-28. : 3:59 am]
TiKels -- How long do you think you could work consecutively farty? before you burn out
[2016-5-28. : 3:58 am]
TiKels -- Anyone can do stuff if it's convenient or they want to. Learning working discipline is doing what you don't want to do because you have to
[2016-5-28. : 3:58 am]
TiKels -- Imo. "Too difficult to progress" = you could not ever pass if you wanted to
[2016-5-28. : 3:58 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- If I can avoid working, I will
[2016-5-28. : 3:57 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I know how to work, I'm just lazy
[2016-5-28. : 3:57 am]
TiKels -- No you should learn how to work. College isn't supposed to be easy.
[2016-5-28. : 3:56 am]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I took it more as like as long as it stays easy, keep going forward
[2016-5-28. : 3:56 am]
TiKels -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: isn't it lay comatose?
you're on the internet too much
[2016-5-28. : 3:55 am]
TiKels -- FaRTy1billion
FaRTy1billion shouted: my second aunt was basically telling me just keep trying to go higher and farther, and eventually I'll find a point where it becomes too difficult to progress, and then figure out what is available to me at that point
If you ignore your body anything is possible
