It's like alternating background colors slightly in a table.[2016-9-01. : 5:40 pm] DarkenedFantasies -- I think I prefer the left side as well, although it feels a bit messy compared to the right side in my opinion. You could rotate the hexagon frames so that they are flat at the top & bottom. Then they would overlap only a little on the sides instead when lined up as in the right side, if that modification is possible to do.[2016-9-01. : 5:30 pm] Corbo -- I think design-wise left is by far the better choice. Just that the borders for those icons clash because the icons and the borders are both washed out-bright so 4th row in (in the middle) creates a weird effect. Icons just work differently in regard to how well you are able to identify it when compared to text. For pictures it doesn't matter if they are close together or even overlap a bit. So I can recognize icons on both sides with the same ease.
