[2016-9-09. : 9:47 pm] Moose -- Microwave got stuck at 46 seconds and didn't shut off. My food got bopped and I almost got memed LMAO[2016-9-09. : 9:22 pm] Wing Zero -- LanthanideLanthanide shouted: in 3 weeks, I'll pass Devourer Won't pass me though[2016-9-09. : 9:22 pm] jjf28 -- LanthanideLanthanide shouted: I've passed Jack in activity https://youtu.be/QbQ-AlKfn-Q[2016-9-09. : 9:17 pm] lil-Inferno -- Mini Moose 2707Mini Moose 2707 shouted: As a mother, not to be offensive/racist, I really want to take my dick out for Harambe. It is what it is. If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best, and after all, it's all part of God's bigger plan. LOL! EPIC FAIL XD[2016-9-09. : 8:55 pm] Moose -- As a mother, not to be offensive/racist, I really want to take my dick out for Harambe. It is what it is. If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best, and after all, it's all part of God's bigger plan.[2016-9-09. : 2:38 pm] Corbo -- Kind of the same. I just wanted them to switch but really would have been cool to see mexico now ;o[2016-9-09. : 2:20 pm] Corbo -- Just finished Narcos. Fucking awesome. Seems like they are going to do what I wished.[2016-9-09. : 2:00 pm] NudeRaider -- FaRTy1billionFaRTy1billion shouted: Just don't put clothes. People are just going to mod them out anyway hence my name[2016-9-09. : 7:36 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- LanthanideLanthanide shouted: you mean, don't put clothes on the women... http://skins.minecraft.net/MinecraftSkins/saintofidiocy.png[2016-9-09. : 7:25 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Just don't put clothes. People are just going to mod them out anyway[2016-9-09. : 6:35 am] Lanthanide -- cloth simulation works ok for things like flags, or sheets of plastic etc, or capes; basically any planar featureless sheet, but beyond that it's not super realistic[2016-9-09. : 6:32 am] Lanthanide -- Dem0nDem0n shouted: NudeRaider Not sure that's entirely true. A lot of cloth models will have thousands of vertices that you can move around to simulate free movement. yeah, but clothes in real life aren't just patches of cloth that are free-flowing. firstly, most fabrics are quite stiff. secondly, when they do move, it depends on the construction of the garment, and the friction with the body etc. cloth simulations in games simply don't take that level of complexity into consideratoin[2016-9-09. : 6:03 am] KrayZee -- So amazing, the next generation experience of video games! You can finally remove or wear clothes without changing the camera or using additional loading screens![2016-9-09. : 6:01 am] KrayZee -- Imagine in E3, a game developers brags about clothes being removed or worn. Kind of like fish AI or closing car doors.[2016-9-09. : 5:45 am] NudeRaider -- So I'm guessing you *could* render it in a game, but would have to dumb it down so far, it would just look stupid.#[2016-9-09. : 5:44 am] lil-Inferno -- Dem0nDem0n shouted: Well I learned about cloth models in animated movies, which obviously have much better animations, so maybe it's not entirely applicable to games. They have all the time in the world to render.[2016-9-09. : 5:44 am] NudeRaider -- okay then maybe it IS a performance question. Games need to render in real time, while films can take months to render[2016-9-09. : 5:42 am] Dem0n -- Well I learned about cloth models in animated movies, which obviously have much better animations, so maybe it's not entirely applicable to games.[2016-9-09. : 5:42 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- now I wanna play with 3D physics again. I don't have time for that shit ;o[2016-9-09. : 5:40 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- basically each point along it needs to have it's own mass and gravity, while not falling away from the other points around it (but not too rigidly, because there needs to be some elasticity)[2016-9-09. : 5:40 am] NudeRaider -- Dem0nDem0n shouted: NudeRaider Not sure that's entirely true. A lot of cloth models will have thousands of vertices that you can move around to simulate free movement. it depends, really. Often they actually are just textures and you get a cape or armor slapped on top and that's it. Sometimes you have a separate entitiy with its own model but that is usually just tacked onto the actor and all animation follows it. No independent movement in the wind and stuff.[2016-9-09. : 5:39 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- and it's not necessarily the area that's the problem, it's the position and rotation calculations[2016-9-09. : 5:38 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- a single hair strand is probably easier to animate, but there are going to be way more of them[2016-9-09. : 5:38 am] NudeRaider -- yeah either that, or it would look shitty. Just look at TressFX (hair animation) and that's much simpler and less area to animate. But depending on your hardware fps can take a big hit.[2016-9-09. : 5:37 am] Dem0n -- NudeRaiderNudeRaider shouted: Clothes are usually little more than textures for the character model. They're not even considered their own entity in the game engine. Not sure that's entirely true. A lot of cloth models will have thousands of vertices that you can move around to simulate free movement.[2016-9-09. : 5:36 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm sure it could be done, there's just a large performance and animation and whatever cost for very little gain[2016-9-09. : 5:35 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Or it's just a model that's placed over the character, in the case of armors[2016-9-09. : 5:34 am] NudeRaider -- Clothes are usually little more than textures for the character model. They're not even considered their own entity in the game engine.[2016-9-09. : 5:34 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- KrayZeeKrayZee shouted: I wonder if Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and high end PCs can render people removing or wearing clothes. Usually they do this offscreen in cinematic cutscenes. Or they just do shit like move their hands over their shoulders and then their clothes disappear xD[2016-9-09. : 5:32 am] NudeRaider -- It's not as much a question of rendering (performance) but much or an animation problem. Games just don't simulate free flowing clothes because it's too complex. Much like with character animation which look best when created using motion capture.[2016-9-09. : 3:48 am] KrayZee -- Kind of like Batman Begins fight scenes, zoomed up closeup fight scenes where punches seem off screen.[2016-9-09. : 3:46 am] KrayZee -- I wonder if Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and high end PCs can render people removing or wearing clothes. Usually they do this offscreen in cinematic cutscenes.[2016-9-09. : 2:17 am] zsnakezz -- whadda ya hear, whadda ya say, it's zSnakez comin atchya with another live Staredit update[2016-9-09. : 1:56 am] Sacrieur -- lil-Infernolil-Inferno shouted: Sacrieur That's because you're an intern. Nah.[2016-9-09. : 1:52 am] lil-Inferno -- SacrieurSacrieur shouted: But comparatively I'm paid very low for my position, and the software developers aren't really given all of the perks that they would in any typical company. That's because you're an intern.[2016-9-09. : 1:45 am] Fire_Kame -- these are good observations, though. I'm really happy to hear all this no joke[2016-9-09. : 1:35 am] KrayZee -- lil-Infernolil-Inferno shouted: Dem0n srsly, everyone on SEN that's in Europe seems to be at university for a literal eternity LMAO Longer than 2 term President?[2016-9-09. : 1:14 am] Sacrieur -- Plus a lot of the people around me are very competent, which is nice. |
