SCLoader2b (coupled with wmode) is a lightweight program that can run StarCraft in a window. It does not tamper with SC's memory in any way that would get detected by SC as a hack/modification or by user-written anti-hack dlls.
Instructions:
1) Extract the zip into your SC directory.
2) Right-click on scloader2b.exe and create a new shortcut for it.
3) Right-click the shortcut and go to its properties.
4) Append a space and the following to the "Target" field:
-xmod wmode.xmod
5) Use this shortcut whenever you want to play SC in a window.
When you're done, you should have a shortcut with a target that looks something like one of these (depending on where you installed SC):
C:\Games\StarCraft\scloader2b.exe -xmod wmode.xmod
"C:\Program Files\StarCraft\scloader2b.exe" -xmod wmode.xmod
Additional Notes:
- Buttons on the top right:
- Lock mouse inside window (hold alt to escape)
- Allow window to be moved around
- Always on top
- Minimize window
- Close window
- wmode.xmod will generate an ini file on your first run. You can go through this file with a text editor and configure the default settings to your liking.
- You can also make SCLoader2b emulate direct draw by appending "ddemulate" as another parameter in the target. This is useful if you're experiencing graphical issues, but it should be unnecessary.
Screenshots:
Known bugs:
- You can't click links inside players' profiles.
- When joining a game, you can't type unless you defocus and refocus the window (e.g., clicking the taskbar and then clicking the game window)
