Hero Wars Imjin - the final frontier! - hero + customizable spells + footmen

Similar to Custom Hero Wars, you have customizable spells. But you also have a grid system that displays what spells you chose --> better game play!

And then you have footmen - 8 of them. If you choose a goliath hero, every now and then you get goliath footmen (max . More strategy! More terrain space for tactical maneuver (128x128) Have you ever seen 9 siege tanks in siege mode, with all of its siege special effects in blasting things away? Now you will! All 3 plyrs on same team can choose the same hero/footmen.

The spells themselves are very interesting & requires timing & precision --> fun. Spells do relatively little but you can use them very frequently. You build a unit at barrack (spell console) which is located below base, and the appropriate spell that you chose for that barrack unit appears (for example marine spell--> infested terran, high templar). All spells cost gas and there's a very low limit on how much gas you can accumulate.

Very interesting spells - yamato cannon, 6 hallucinations, blind enemies for 2 sec (they get to stare at a very cute & annoying anime face; you get a chance to make a strategic move without their notice!; and when timed right with good team work, 3 plyrs who chose the blind spell can use them consecutively - 3 in a row --> 6 seconds of precious moment!), scatter away enemies (useful when you're trapped, also useful against enemy melee units), and spy (you see enemy activities for 6 seconds, and you get most of your gas back).

Duel is 3v3 instead of 1v1!

BAnking gets more interesting - it is based on interest rate! More money you have, more income you get!
Banking? You go to shop, buy a probe, and build a shield battery in order to increase your income.

NO CHEATS! CHEATS ARE FOR NOOBS! HACKERS DONT PLAY PLZ.

Finally, this game is historically based. All heroes & footmen are historically based. A considerable amount of the waves are historical.

Forgot about the handicap system - in 3v2, 2v1, etc., the side with lower number gets more income (not enough to win the game but better than nothing)

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
