I found this pretty interesting, you may have seen it before, but it's pretty cool. Basically a history of SC while it was being made.

Red classic.

"In short, their absurdities are so extreme that it is painful even to quote them."

Wow this is amazing, in some of the alphas and betas you could place ruins on dirt and you could stack low dirt cliffs on top of low dirt, and the snow tileset looked way better.

What the heck is that on the desert terrain - rocks sticking up through gas? I guess that was before they went back to tar.

It's interesting to see that they had Valkyries and Desert before BW. Cookies that were saved for later, apparently.

Some of this old stuff can be found with programs like Datedit; in particular, I remember finding an icon for the afterburner that someone forgot to delete or something.

I order you to forgive yourself!

The dropship used to land to pick up unit, I thought that was funny.
Firebats used to be able to burn trees!

Compare that to starcraft 2...

You're from moon or something guys? This is so old. I was inspired from this link a few years ago and found an actual SC beta version in some old Russian SC page. It was a good find for modders and stuff. Then a few months later few bastards took all the credit for finding the beta. It's not that bad though because they made a B.net server where people can actually play the beta. So yea, this soooo old.

Not only that, but I believe there were a few members on SEN that had the StarCraft Beta CDs. Not exactly sure who they are though.

Oh_Man -- it can pick the weakest mutalisk off from a stack of mutas - pretty OP
[02:30 am]
Oh_Man -- against zerg: https://youtu.be/PK5WD1EAnpU
[02:22 am]
Oh_Man -- another match here, way more wraiths
[02:04 am]
Oh_Man -- and templars psi storm as arty said is a strong counter to the marine med the bot was going, so the wraith was actually the correct play there
[02:04 am]
Oh_Man -- and the wraith was cloaking and going around sniping templars (which wuld be too hard to perfectly micro in a normal human game and the wraith wuld die or distract u too much trying to micro it vs doing other things)
[02:03 am]
Oh_Man -- they usually require too much micro so it's 'dumb' for a human to use them. but in the hands of the AI they become god tier, ghosts locking down goons and helping get them picked
[02:03 am]
Oh_Man -- artosis also didnt understand a couple of its plays, coz they make no sense for a human, but they did for the AI. The wraith and the ghost for example
[02:01 am]
Oh_Man -- it's issuing orders to each unit individually, so the number sounds more hype than it actually is, it's just an artifact of it not being able to use control groups
[02:01 am]
Oh_Man -- also the 6000 APM is kind of a fake/incorrect number, which is xplained by the AI maker in the comments. it's not using control groups, it doesnt have that functionality
