Recently i have found myself interested in dota/ts maps and ideas for them
one idea is for a good vs evil map featuring characters with different ideas
12 characters, force 1 will feature good sides of heroes such as Mage, knight, elemental
and force 2 will feature the evil side of them and such but different spells
another idea is 6 characters with the same ideas as above And only each team gets 3 special types while there are 6 general types for all teams
EX: good gets priest and evil gets necromancer
any ideas and thoughts people have are appreciated
also, I plan to create this soo yeah

Be careful that you don't make their counterparts too similar; it will reduce the replayability of the game and there will be essentially 2 of each hero.
Examples:
Good <-------> Evil
Crossbowman - Infernal Archer
Paladin - Disciple of <insert evil name or god here>
Giant - Troll/Golem
Wizard - Warlock
Angel - Demon
Light - Shadow
Knight - Undead/Skeletal Warrior

Love your ideas, but I dont know whether i'd use one character for good/evil just with different spells or use different units for each

It sounds like your unique feature is just a difference in strings.

Make sure you make your characters super unique... AoS's nowadays need to be very different in order to stand out from the heap of them being put out nowadays.

Here's an idea: Two different types of energy are on the map. Each player starts off as a neutral aligned unit (besides the team they are on, obviously) and they can develop into either good or evil aspects depending on how much light or dark energy they gather as they go around the map. Then you can change their spells / unit / stats depending on their level and their alignment.

Awesome idea, so that i can have 12 heroes with 6-8 spells each, but At a certain point shouldn't it just become permanent or let them choose there good/evil?

Like the idea though

Well have it move on a continuum.

It'd basically be like a double power system from HS.

Evil -- Really Bad -- Bad -- Neutral -- Good -- Really Good -- Angelic

The absolute value of good is equal to the absolute value of bad. This is the same for all values for each direction.
With Neutral, hero can have let's say 2 base spells that aren't really good or evil.

As you move across the continuum you would have good or evil spells depending on your location. If you have 100% good energy, then you have the strongest good spells for your character, if you are 100% evil, it'd be just the opposite.

What we are talking about reminds me of fable :(
but If I did that people could shift from good to bad unintentionally

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
