I entered the yearlong RPG contest, but I am afraid I am unable to finish. I'm sure many of you thought I had left SC mapping altogether, and that's the truth, sadly. School is just too busy, and I've realized that I won't be able to make any sort of deadline within a year or so.

So, I am leaving this map, which is the essence of what I had planned, to you, the people who may be able to bring it to life.
[attach=4739]

This map is so far just an outline, and includes:
-An infinite leveling system, in which it becomes harder to level up each time (until level 63 or something, when it just becomes the same score each time)
-A random enemy creation engine, which can create any SC unit as an enemy based on level. (Again up to level 63, then all the hard enemies are created, and all the easy ones removed)
-A placement engine, so that no enemy is created in the view of players, but placed just outside their screen. This placement works with both air and ground units, and is self limiting so that not too many enemies are created.
-It also utilizes pregame hero selection, which I think is a fun little idea, but is easily removed if anyone wants to take it out.

Unfortunately I was unable to finish the rest of the map, which would have included enemy attacks and spells, along with a few other ideas I had. I feel that I labeled the triggers nicely though, so that anyone can relatively easily jump onto the project and make their own map. I'm kinda hoping this engine becomes used by people, because it takes out a lot of rpg triggering dirty work, so you can simply throw down a storyline and be done with it.

I just really don't have the time.

P.S. - Lethal, I'm pretty sure nothing has changed on this since you last saw it. (Which is a sad commentary.)

I like the pregame hero selection, its cool and innovative. I'm sorry you have to leave map making . . . The SC map making community will lose a lot.

<-- Plans on using these trigs. Always glad to see less work to do ^^
Though it -is- sad that you abandon such a project :(
