Hey guys, i got a problem with the sprites in the map i am making... It is a map that will have around 1000 sprites... maybe less if i can. The problem is that i got 492 sprites and around 60 or em disapear at game start... maybe are they misplaced but i dont think so caus somme others places the same way are not removed...

Another thing i noticed is the fact that all the sprites that got removed are in the bottom half of the map, but not all sprites under the middle are removed... strange.

Fast help would be cool, thx.

So, is it impossible to put more sprites?

No, I want to know how you spam like such a pro.

Anyway, isn't there an alternative way you can do the map? Forget sprites.

meme

Certain sprites placed in the editor tend to either finish their animation right away and disappear or not appear at all.

The sprite limit is 499.

Hm, where did you get that from?

I thought it was 250.
At least for the "units-not-shooting-anymore" bug caused by too many units shooting at once.
Or is this a different limit? Preplaced vs. shot sprites?

Uhhh, can't you just go to you're settings in SCMDraft 2 and change the sprite limit? Mine is a lot... like, a big number-10000.

No, you can't. Try making sprites in Scmdraft and it will tell you when you get 250.
I don't know about the not shooting anymore bug, but you can only place 250 in an editor.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
