Some ppl have been helping me with setting up a zonecontrol map, big help so far thanks alot guys!

Been testing out some stuff and even though some have explained alot of things to me, some triggering and understanding I just can't put together, only been at it 3 days.

So I came up with something that should be alot easier for me to setup.

1 overlords is required, to buy 1 new zone, I have it the zone automatically created at loc1,
Now if you want to buy another zone, the trigger is set to goto loc1.
How can I tell the buy a new zone at another set location.
I was thinking of just have different zones you could buy, bunker, cannon etc, and spawn different units etc.
This would be easier, but take longer for me.

no offence but dont bother try making a better zone control. Z-OWN CONTROL ULTRA 9.1 is the best zonecontrol by far as well as the best UMS map ever for starcraft. And after that theres Hydra 4.0, so i guess if its better then that its cool.

and why is this in mapping assistance?

Have you looked in a zone control map to see how it works?

This is somewhat like a zone control map, I know theres better ones out there, who cares I'm just learning and having fun.
I'm not a hardcore sc mapper, I just started back up 3 days go after 4 yrs of barley touching Staredit.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
