--edit--
a few years later... lol. anyway I decided to remake it because my friends want to play rw on bgh (not hunters now). anyway, the only difference is the triggering and the fact that I made it so that you can still scout for partners if you want because I didnt make it auto sv however I did make it so that you are allied so oblivious players wont be sitting there attacking their partners with their workers when they do scout -.-
--end edit--

First off let me explain what racewars is (for those who don't know).

Racewars is basically a regular game of sc on a mellee map and is played with ~5-8 players (any less and it gets boring). Everyone goes random and the game starts. Players then have to scout the map to find out who their allies are (allies = players of the same race [ex. all terrans ally each other]).

Now I couldn't find a way to lock all players slots so that they cant change races in the loading room (I know I could do it with triggers in game but I didn't wanna go through the trouble).

Heres the story: My friends try to screw each other over and say "im tooss" when they're terran and some poeple believe and ally. So basically I just made a little trigger that auto allies/visions players of the same race (if you open up the map and look at the triggers I did it with neutral units. Right after I made the trigger I realized that I could have used map revealers (basically non-units) instead)

Anway, the critters dont really matter at all. what matters is that the triggering system works and it auto allies/visions.

Sorry this isn't anything amazing or new but hey, it was fast and what works works ^^

Have Fun. :)

oh man. I woke up at 4:45 am and it just hit me that I could have just done: current player and player 1 command 1 nexus ->set vision/ally
^I could have done that and saved 5 minutes. I'm so stupid. It's so stupid I had to get out of bed and post this at 5:15 AM.

Good Night :-_-:

Couldn't you have just set the player race? Well unless you wanted them to have actual choice.

welll the whole fun in racewars is for it to be random teams. There could be 4 zerg, 1 terran, and 3 toss or 2 zerg, 3 terran, and 3 toss.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
