Okay so I had some computer problems, reinstalled Starcraft, made a map, and now I can't protect it.
I used to use PROEdit.
I downloaded PROEdit again but it's some different version that rapes my map. When I go play the locked version, pre-placed units are all at 4% HP. Wtf.
I downloaded GUEdit which I have used in the distant past successfuly. It won't finish opening my map. It works fine on a small size map but not a big one. Wtf again.

I just need a link to a good map protector please.

All the map protectors you listed are quite easily unprotected. I am quite sure that Farty's TinyMap works as very effective a map protecter, even though I really just use it for compression.

Try it out either way. OSMAP can't take it out:

Thank you so much! And thanks to Farty, i mean, wow... its so good. It got like 5 times higher percentage in compression than the other guys too! lol.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
