An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Which tile on installation allows you to place/build buildings on? (extra tiles: 16-0 to 48-0)

Edit: Ah, nevermind... It's tile 16-0

Wrong, buddy. He is requesting assistance on a map making feature, so it's the right place. Terrain is mainly for displaying and requesting... terrain.

Anyways.. him answering his own question actually answered one of mine too :P

This question is about a property of the terrain, therefore the terrain forum is the most relevant place for this. This forum is more relevant for questions about units and triggers.

Stop arguing whether or not this topic should be here, it was solved here already, so it's no biggie.

Oh, and it's not just 0016.00 tile, it's any tile from 0016.00 to 0049.00, or in SF, any tile from 16-0 through 49-0, although they're all the same tile, so it doesn't matter anyway.

...I like how this got 4 replies after it's been solved already. We need to be able to lock our own topics, or delete them (Maybe we can and I'm just blind -.- ) Also this was for a problem I was having creating a machine shop using triggers; I just figured out the first part on my own :P

It would look like crap since it would have to be the same tile over and over..

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
