Theres nothing really complex about this problem. :

It was like any other save.. i wasnt experimenting with anything abnormal in the editor. I click save... and something bad has happened.
I figure it was a silly bug, so, i close scmdraft and try again (i had recently saved before)
Behold! another crash -.-
I figure theres something iffy about my map... so i start troubleshooting. i opened a different map and tried to save.
WTF!! another crash!!! >.>
Something is wrong, should i send in a diagnostic file... and just re-install?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Use ScmDraft 0.7.3. Less features, but much more stable.

Most of the time you just have to delete all your backup saved files and it stops. If it gets above a certain amount of megabytes then it does that.

My SCMDraft crashed the other night for some random reason. I don't know if this helps, but at the time, I had written my first hyper trigger. Were you by any chance using hyper triggers? And is it possible that some versions of SCMDraft doesn't like hyper triggers?

None.

Hyper triggers have nothing to do with it. That was merely a coincidence.
Deleting the backup database is a good idea though.

Master has given Dobby a doctorate! Dobby is free!

If it still crashes, try changing the .MPQ to broodat, or manually going into your C: drive to select it in the Master Settings.

If you do all that good stuff, and it keeps crashing, here's a download straight from SCFT.

EDIT: it is 0.8.0, however. I haven't had any problems, and my computer is probably the first to have errors.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
