Creating Units at Location not working

Hey there first time poster. Im making a map and I have a huge location covering most of the map where I want medics to regenerate every few seconds. The trigger is basic so it cannot be wrong as far as my understanding goes. However they keep generating at another location where there is a small cliff. I make no reference to this location at all. Is ther a problem with large locations?

Units should be created at the center of the location, is this location they're being created at even inside the large one? Also, what editor(s) are you using?

Locations 'bump' off of the side of the map. If your location is very large and at the side of the map it will slide the locations over so the entire thing fits within the map boundaries when a location is centered.

There is no 'problem' with large locations though.

you probably shouldnt have a location that big. im not sure why if you wanted it to just regenrate medics you wouldnt make it like 9x9 at most.

i would say just simply use a small location and it should fix your problem. and also check all your other triggers that may have a move command or somthing effect the medics.

yeah this other location is inside the larger one i wish to be the generator. but i solved the problem by creating smaller zones within the map where they regenerate in turn. im usingg xtra editor. I havent made a map since like 2000 so this is all pretty rad and new to me.

I recommend SCMDraft 2. It is worth it to learn it.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
