a contest with a template? u should really do this :D for some noobish map makers like myself =)

btw random question, but is it wrong to use osmap to use sounds from maps into ur own? becuase i know some of those .wavs were made by the mapmakers themselves.

I find my main focus in mapping revolves around helping noob mappers such as your self become more experienced.

You should ask their permission.

Legally you are not obliged (or at least not in the UK).

Though the use of the word "wrong" makes me think you are asking a moral question, so I cannot help you.

To use what they stole from another game or artist? LOL. Simply converting a file to work nicely in SC doesn't make it yours. Hell if people wanted, they could bust half you for copyright infringement.

All maps are blizzard's property. However, taking something someone made and claiming that you made it... is plagiarism. It isn't that you're claiming the property, you're crediting yourself for making the map.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
