Okay. Sorry to be such a bother, just trying to get the information out :P.

So, while I walk there for ~2 hours (south-west coast), I find: blueberries, red currants as berries. Of mushrooms, I find one large specimen of 'Boletus edulis', two of 'Leccinum aurantiacum', one of 'Leccinum scabrum', four of 'Suillus', thirteen (rather tiny) closely grouped specimens of 'Cantharellus cibarius', and seventeen nice young specimens of 'Russula vesca'. Well, actually I'd found much more, but those were partly eaten by insects. You cut the stalk and see how eaten it is - you can be unlucky and actually have a worm look at you while you're doing that, which scared the hell out of me. I don't have a bag, so I take off my shirt an- . No, that was just to annoy you. I'd taken three small bags with me, and used a retractable knife in my flare to cut mushrooms off. Those that made the cut went in one bag - berries went into the other.

NORTHERN CLIMATE.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

Mirko finally arrived after a while to the beach where Eduardo and Adam were discussing about their next move. While Vincent was just crossing his way swimming around the rocky cliff that had interrupted his jogging. He then spotted Adam and kept heading towards him. Meanwhile Valeriya was quietly walking through the palm trees where she couldn't pick up the mushrooms she was expecting nor berries that grow in high places. What she forgot is that mushrooms usually grow in wet places and the palms didn't accumulate enough humidity for dry mushrooms to grow. She could, however, spot some oranges and limes which she succesfully cut and carried them along with her. The vitamins in these fruits could be of later use to reanimate her and provide her from a dose of sugar.

Map Updated

Centreri, You can't assume you find X stuff. You look for them and hope you find them.

Vincent rendezvoused with Adam before moving on towards the trees to forage for food. He was getting hungry and would need to keep up his strength.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

Night has fallen.
Valeriya's trainning finally paid of as she can easily walk without getting lost only using as reference the stars. However, the group of Eduardo, Vincent and Adam don't know what to do. They have no shelter and no fire. They'll just have to expose themselves to any danger that could exist in the island.

Far from shore on the sea a dead flyinghat is being eaten by sharks that smelled the blood from far away and swam all the way just to find the only remaning living and fed on it.

I take out my solar-powered 13 gig phone, see if I can call anyone, no connection. Shame.

I steal a knife from the lifeboat, as well as one of those nice plasticy wide things they always stick in life boats and start walking in an eastern direction. Now, while I'm walking in that direction I'm walking in (as I said, I'm not staying around the others. My flare will defend me!), I find whatever boring fruit grow. I scrape some fungus off a very creepy-looking tree and decide to feed it to someone to see if it's poisonous or not, while moving in a general eastern direction. I turn on my solar-powered phone, put earphones into my ears to have nice music while working. I put all the fruit and berries in the same bag, collect all mushrooms I find, and collect all veggies available. I also pick up nice sticks along the way, and make note of any sources of fresh water, as well as the wildlife. I move to my designated location on the map for whatever time it takes to not be tired, set up camp north of the grove shown on the map, under the protection of several close-up trees. By then I'd be familiar with the wildlife, and use the plasticy things, the sticks I gathered and fruit I gathered to set up several basic traps. Gotta have some meat in the diet. I then go exploring. This all takes theoretically ~4 hours, so... yeah. When it hits 12, I'll return to my encampment and sleep, then continue with my food gathering. Then, until 5 PM, when I'll be back to update, I'll be digging a hole to use as a fridge for my gathered food. I take my flare gun with me at all times, in case Echo comes and tries to rape me. It'd set her on fire ;).

[OOC]
I will point out here, Corbo, that the map is not tropical, and that there should not be exclusively palm trees. The trees shown on the map are those that require a decent source of water, so there should be decent mushrooms. Additionally, seeing as you can see individual trees, I don't think it'd take four hours to walk across the whole island, even from the two widest points.

Dammit, night. Well, technically all my stuff can be done at night, so I'll keep it the same. However, I use my flaregun's nightlight feature to navigate.

We do a little trolling

Vincent (and probably his party) wander towards the forest, to find what little shelter he (they) can for the night. Luckily, Vincent is wearing his usual trench coat, to protect him from the possible cold. Once a humble shelter is found, Vincent goes to sleep.

I'm still not sure what the temperature really is. If it's tropical, it's not that cold, and you can survive until winter with a light shirt, probably. If it's more northern, as the map suggests, then theoretically we were wearing something heavier when the ship sank.

My strategy is basically to become completely self-sufficient. I'll take two people under my wings, teach them how to survive, provided they do work and do more or less what I tell them to. After constructing a 'basement', so to speak, to use as a fridge, I'll start working on a cabin. Then, possibly, farming. We have to grow our own food, since the island doesn't provide enough on its own. If anyone wants to live with me, come to my encampment and start helping. If anyone tries to destroy something of mine, I'll set them on fire with my flare gun.

Are you sure about that?

"Guys, I didn't spot any safe place to sleep. There's nothing useful in this island. I was able to see some fruits up ahead, that I'm sure we can make use of.

Now, about sleeping, one of us should always stay awake to protect the others. These sticks and stones I picked up, we can make a campfire out of them, to see what's around us at night. Now, one of us most volunteer to stay awake. I beg of you to let me sleep tonight, for I am tired after that long walk. Should I sleep tonight, I will stay around the shore and see what I can do tomorrow, and, should night fall and none of use found a safe place to sleep, I will watch over you that night.

The one who does not watch over us tonight should go and get some of those fruits. We need to conserve as much energy as possible; and those fruits should keep us somehow hydrated. They'll calm our hunger, and a bit of our thirst.

My suggestion: Optimize our energy. Do you agree with me? If so, we must settle who is staying up tonight to watch for the rest. Once that is decided, I'll start the campfire."

Dec 18 2008, 2:30 am Phobos Post #138

Are you sure about that?

Eduardo starts litting some fire to get a campfire going for the night, by using his sticks and rocks. After some hard work and getting his hands sore, he gets a large enough fire by taking some more flamable material from the nearby jungle.

Once the campfire is done and Adam stays awake to watch over the others, Eduardo decides to sleep, close to the campfire.

A water proof cell phone? Damn, I need to get one of those.

[insert long paragraph here]
So you're just ignoring the fact that you didn't find any mushrooms and just keep assuming you pick them up? lolwut?
Stay by the posts, please.

Nope, the shown on the map are trees that require small roots. So they're able to grow on the rocky land covered with sand of the islan. If you notice almost all the borders are rocks that are merged with some cheap grass. This evidently says that all of the terrain underground will rocks and trees that require a source of water will not have a place to grow roots to. As to the "decent source of water" thing. Do you see any water besides the salty ocean one?

Additionally, seeing as you can see individual trees, I don't think it'd take four hours to walk across the whole island, even from the two widest points.
Yes, of course. You should only take 2 hours if you didn't get tired. But since you do plus the sun plus the idea of being lost that costs some motivation you're slown down.

Yeah, GG. :P

@viet: You haven't made a move? You said you were in a raft of some sort but you were already on shore for like hours before you posted. Maybe you should re-read the posts.

From now on I'll just not do posts like this but all of the posts will be game-wise related. I can't keep explaining things just cause you guys make weird assumptions.
You're on your own now. Pay attention to the posts and only to the posts, an of course the map. I will not answer further posts directed at me. All the decisions you make now are yours for good or bad. Bai guys :P
