hello :D
i understand how random triggers work, but this is confusing me:

i have 10 turrets for player 7, each stacked 10, so 100 turrets. is it possible to give random ones to a player when they request it. if i just center a location over them it goes in a certain order, and to do it with random triggers would take hundreds of triggers.

im just starting map making again so sorry if im missing something obvious.

thanks!

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Let a death counter count from 0 to 99 and when you want to select a random turret you give that amount of turrets to another player and then give 1 of original player to the target player. Then give all turrets back.

The give random amount trigger would look like this:
IF Death counter 'random' is at least 1
THEN give 1 turret from Player X to Y

You have to copy this trigger 100 times if you want it to happen instantly.

The value of the death counter obviously depends on time. So it is recommended that you use hyper triggers so the outcome isn't predictable from recent previous outcomes.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
