Partial map protection

This idea will sometimes protect your map:

Some unprotectors delete the "never" conditions, just make a simple trigger like that:

Make 2 conditions: always, never
Make 1 Action: defeat

If the unprotector deletes the "never" condition the trigger will always end the game.

NOTE: Don't make messages if you create these triggers, or the map hacker will discover this trigger
NOTE: This idea is TOP SECRET don't tell anyone.

I liek! Good idea, I'll be using it in my next map.

You might want to add a comment, tho, so the map stealer won't see the trigger and delete it. Putting the comment "EUD Maphack prevention" could work. You might also want to add a text message so people know that it's because the map was stolen that it broke, otherwise it seems like a glitch and people think you're a noob.

A lot of compressors and protectors do the same thing. This could work both ways. Guess you'd have to find out.

Hahhahahahahha. You realize the maker of OSMAP knows about and browses this site right? Why would you poste a TOP SECRET idea on a forum viewable by anyone? You are quite amusing.

👻 👾 👽 💪

They actually delete the entire trigger block that contains 'never'. If they deleted JUST the 'never' condition then triggers that weren't meant to run would run, thus ruining the map and defeating the purpose of unprotecting it.

I had this idea too, but realised 3 minutes later it wouldnt work because I took the time to use the program myself on my own map. Or what you could do, is put a picture of the creators of Osmap on the minimap so the next time you see them to punch them multiple times for making map protection usless

You can put something essential in that trigger like this:

Conditions: Always, Never(disabled)
Action: Set<Important Switch>

Just make this important switch start the game, start other triggers...

If the protectors delete the entire trigger, they won't be able to play and the trigger will be missing

You can also do this in every trigger you have.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

I guess before they delete triggers with never condition, they will delete every unchecked condition/action...

Hello

Nice idea! thank you :)
I'll hide it on the tons of triggers at my map i'm working on ;o

by the way: when you posting it on SEN it isn't really secret, but I guess here on SEN is no map-stealer / hack :)

You know, even if you could somehow make the removal of a "never" trigger problematic, it's not like they couldn't just unprotect their original copy of the map again with that option unchecked...

EDIT: Missunderstood

maybe someone knows a way how to detect if a location was renamed??

There isn't. Well, maybe EUDs, but those are evil demonic inventions of mindfuckness.

I'm assuming unprotectors only delete triggers which checked never conditions, that would be logical.

If that's the case, this doesn't do anything. If by some poor fault of OSMAP it deletes triggers with an unchecked never condition, you could simply add one to each trigger.

Protectors remove unchecked conditions, I believe, so that second method wouldn't work either.

Ok... If they remove triggers with "never" condition and remove disabled conditions and actions that wouldn't work. I have to think about it.

I got a good one, stop making topics about map protection and unprotectors, because only Professional map stealers can steal your map (OSMap is a REALLY rare thing to see anymore ON bnet), and professionals no longer exist (As if they were professional anyway)

The less talk about it, the more protected you are.

NimoStar -- And Pathfinding in SC1 was not *that* bad, the problem is that it was designed as a flat 2D game like WC1 (and it was in the alpha) and then switched to isometric without changing the base code. So its actually a flat game pretending to be isometric. With the custom competitive maps that use larger ramps and elevation, pathfinding is quite fixed.

NimoStar -- The unlocking and map choice was fine, but mostly in WoL - In HoTS the worst of all units are irrelevant because Kerrigan has infinite summon and stuff. And even in WoL the spaceship instakill map powers are better than units. If I could RTS in my RTS that'd be great.
