Okay, for my map I want to use a hologram-type setup in the cargo ship for certain automated systems, I was wondering if anyone had a map that showed a unit flashing pretty quickly, but to the point that it is easily visible.

As in flashing colors? Or just like disappearing and reappearing...

I think if you use a create-wait-kill... it would overlay the new unit over the death, and if it's a hallucination you get a flashing unit over a blue background that's all zappy and stuff.

I want the unit to appear and disappear, no explosions, no flashing colors.

Just post the map as an attachment, I'm sure I can figure it out, but I'm feeling especially lazy.

Ya, just do.. create unit, wait 0, remove unit, wait 0, create unit, wait 0, etc. etc. And if that's too fast just increase the waits.
Or if you're one of "those guys" you can use death counters O.o

Yes, I'd have to say that I am one of "those guys". :P

Thanks for helping guys, I went ahead and figured it out by myself, TY anyway..

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

If the unit always spawns looking in another direction, you can move the unit to another position for one trigger cycle instead of create and remove.
An example would be a Marine.

it'll look better if you use a hallucination, unless you make the player color blue

Well there is a easier way to do this but,it makes all your units flashy and only in the mini map.On player color choosing Chose Blueish Grey.It is a nice color that glows/flashs.Like I said though it has flaws to how you want it.

yeah, example attached.
if you use hallucinations, you'll have to turn on shared vision, or you won't be able to tell it's hallucinated.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
