In my map I need to detect when a player presses an arrow key or screen position so the unit moves according to what you press or your screen postion. I would prefere pressing arrow keys, but if it's not possible I just have to deal with screen detection.

The reason im asking for the arrow keys instead of screen position is that my map is 20x64 and I can't move left or right so if i would then have to change my whole system.

It would have to detect screen position, and since that is not one if the shared values it will also have to be single player.

That sucks. Can you give me the triggers for it?

I know, my map is a single player.

That's your job. http://farty1billion.dyndns.org/EUDDB/

I like how you just quoted the entire thing twice.

How can import the triggers into scmdraft?

None.

You can't. Use EUDTrig and import them into farty/staredit, or just use starforge. SCMDraft sucks with EUDs.

Apparently, EUDS are supported in the newest version (I have 8.0) but I can't get it to work at ALL. If someone wants to tell us, please do.

This is turning in a "Can Euds do this?" topic to a "How do I do EUDs from no prior knowlegde" topic, which has been done to death. Just read one of those.

Well I thought like rockz that the newest version of scmdraft could handle them, but when i tried they didn't work so i just wondered how.
Edit: Btw can you give me a starforge download?

StarForge.

For everything else, there's Google.

If you use Classic Trigedit, I think you can enter ID: xxx to get EUDs, or maybe Unit ID: xxx, can't remember..

Most complex maps are said to be easier to code in Notepad.
If you're using Mac or want a minor Notepad improvement: Notepad++

Whenever I try to do it in Starforge I get this: Parameter alias not recognized. :(

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

have you setup the config file to be "unit number" instead of "unit name"?

Open up the conditions file in "data" and find this line:

Condition Deaths(Player Player, Comparison Comparison, Number Number, Number Unit)

make sure it's "Number Unit" and not "Unit Unit". If you want EUD capability, you need to input a number.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[04:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
