Hello

EDIT: sorry... I read it wrong...

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

EDIT: omg... read wrong.

Okay here's the list of numbers you requested:
Code
26 ^2 = 676
264 ^2 = 69696
307 ^2 = 94249
836 ^2 = 698896
2285 ^2 = 5221225
2636 ^2 = 6948496
22865 ^2 = 522808225
24846 ^2 = 617323716
30693 ^2 = 942060249

Oh wait... you said only 1 number is known? Well I guess by solving it I made the riddle itself invalid. Does it still count as solved? :bleh:
cubed =/= squared

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

O.o
omg. I really should learn to read more carefully... Sorry

However a quick rewrite and I got this:
2201 ^3 = 10,662,526,601

Dungeon Master

cube root(121)

You never said it had to be rational. Do I win?

Edit: Fuck, he got the real number first anyway. :(

Btw. I don't have a riddle so Killer_Kow can post one.

Can KK NOT have a riddle prepared and his next post will say so and gives me the chance to post a riddle? pl0x? ;_;

btw can someone make a rule to not use that 3sheep/chicken and 3wolf need to cross a river on a raft riddle?

MadZombie if you got a riddle go ahead and post it. But only if you're faster than KK. ;)

Btw. MA i was wondering one thing: Is there a way to get to the solution NOT bruteforcing it?

Nov 20 2008, 12:20 am MillenniumArmy Post #89

Well that problem was one of our Computer Science problems lol. So in order to get it we had to write a short code for it. Guess that's the only way without... going insane

A man living in a cabin with no electricity. This man only has ONE match. He wants to light his oil lamp so he can see in the dark , his cabin is ever so dark. He also wants to warm up his bathtub using the match, he smells pretty bad. The man ALSO wants to light his fire place so he can cook his soup he has in a kettle over the fireplace. He cannot use his match to light all three of the "objects" because the match will only burn long enough to light one of them.

If he wants to:
Eat his warm soup
See in the dark
Take a warm bath

What would he have to light first to get all of these accomplished?

Eh, yea... hope i remembered it correctly.

Just here for the activity... well not really

Light the match. I heard this before.

I don't have any riddle at the ready, so someone else can post a riddle if they have one.

Nov 20 2008, 3:58 am Vi3t-X Post #98

Maybe a simple set of riddles will do.

Such an object no matter how you drop, will not break.
Leave it be, perhaps with a liquid it will disintegrate.

Uhm that depends on how these objects are shaped.
For instance I could imagine he lights fireplace first, then takes a branch of burning woo to light all the others.
He lights the fireplace. The fire inside gives him light and he can use the water kettle to fill the bathtub.

OOPS: I didn't refresh... ;)

@ viet

I'm going to say fire ? idk, its the answer to a similar riddle.

Symmetry -- Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao
[06:28 am]
NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[06:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
