So I was thinking about how I HATE when people are banned in a ums type map and they stay in via hacks. I've come up with a solution, but the damn trigger isn't working. Any help would be appreciated: (as far as map is concerned I am trying to display this unit to player 2)
Current player brings at least 1 terran civillian to location 21
Execute ai script turn OFF shared vision for player 1
Execute AI script turn off shared vision for player 3 (and so on, til 6)

Center view for Player 2 at location 8
Create 1 Independent command center at location 8
WAit 3000 ms
Remove 1 Independent command center at location 8
Turn ON shared vision for player (1-6)

You cannot create Independent Command Centers. You cannot create ANY crashing unit for that matter (if that's your intention). Almost any hacker has protection from crashing units anyway.

You can preplace crashing disabled sprites and hide it from vision. Map hackers will see it and crash when you center their screen on the location.

You could also Kill Units all his stuff, or use Give Units to give all his units to P12.

Actually I found answer to this problem. I dont want to use your idea mainly b/c it's an impossible map and people all get comats. HOWEVER, disabling a unit that causes a crash when looked at, then resetting that to regular state, will work. Ty for your help.

I suppose a whisper ban is out of your league...

Still it's fun to try out http://www.staredit.net/103959/

You could also try an unorthodox method and center the screen in one spot, spam obnoxious messages and play unbearably annnoying wav's.

That just might make them quit.

I tested my method, and it works... am I correct in assuming the whisper ban will not work if the person has /o igw on? That ignores any private messages from non friends.

only if you detect whispers. You could also just say it (and then they can't help but hear it). What's more, you can just use the normal method of banning, but cause them to desync some other way (display text, detect that text instead).

Unfortunatly, the new oblivion hack has an anti-sprite crash protection system on it now. :><: unless there is a new kind of anti map hack, then theres no safe way.

Create a unit, disable it, bam, crash :) Of course, you need the right unit.

However, disabled sprites are still not covered, and neither are some trigger-caused crashes, so go with those if you want to beat Oblivion.

The best method is a EUD desync, the player will drop from the game and there's nothing they can do about it, only problem is that it may become messed up after a patch. It's not certain, but it could happen.

EUD desynch? How does one do that?

cause a player to read an eud which is not shared. That player will execute the trigger alone, and consequently get dropped instantly.

I'm sorry, this is my first map, and I'm trying to make it professional. Do you have a less complex article explaining EUD desynchs? Also, thanks a million for that psi storm article hosted on here. Microing against 200 dmg storms is not gonna be easy for the poor victims of my map ^_^

Not really. I suggest you search for my guide on HP detection to get a basic understanding of what EUDs are, take a look at the EUDDB (it's stickied in theories/ideas) and test out a few of the EUD triggers. However, once you do it, YOU can make a very simple guide, and/or submit the test map into the DB. A simple desync banning system would be very cool.

I believe screen position isn't shared, so you center the screen for the player you want to ban, then detect the position and they desync.

Does such a trigger need actions?
E.g. is a comment enough to ban him?

Nov 14 2008, 6:54 pm SaidinIncarnate Post #17

No, screen position isnt shared, which is kind of the basis of my crash idea in the first place. Also, since you can turn shared vision off for everyone but one player, it doesnt matter. I searched for hp detection but I didnt find it :-/ Any way you could provide me with the link to your article?

Of course, it didn't help much that I said HP detection. Sorry for that confusion.

I think you need actions, but it doesn't really matter. If you make a unit at "anywhere" only his version of starcraft will make it, and consequently will be dropped from the game.
