Just wanting to share a little amateur map making. Hope it's not too sloppy or nooby. :D
Also I couldn't find some kind of .smc to .bmp maker thing, only hundreds of programs that did the exact opposite.

Get a better picture and I'll analyze it for you. Use SCMDraft 2 to save the image, then open it in something like Paint.NET, resize it, and post it here.

Maps too tight and you aren't going to fit anymore than 4 players on a 128x128. Hell, most (2)s are 128x128.

Yeah, I've always noticed she was claustrophobic. I suppose I could edit it to be 4 instead of 6. I suppose 4 player maps are more common anyhows. :P

There are many existing maps who look like this one, but nice to start ^^
try to make more special things like bigger ramps or longer bridges (with scmdraft) and put eventually some neutral buildings or units (DTs are nice ^^) to block. (to set neutral unit/buildings into the map you have to place unit SPRITES)
otherwise you will not see them in a MP map.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
