Once you use the "Move Unit" trigger on a scarab, how do you make the scarab attack a unit. Like attack on sight like a computer does.

Use the Ai Junkyard Dog for it to attack.

This is a good topic http://www.staredit.net/topic/3892/ ... has random details.

Plz post trigger order. I'm guessing my trigger order isn't right. I moved the scarab then right after I used Junkyard Dog but it doesn't attack an SCV I put right next to it. It keeps trying to go to the top left corner. The scarab is owned by me, the player if that is the problem.

Ok, well I got the scarabs to attack, and I know what Junk Yard Dog does, but is there anyway to make the scarabs attack immediately instead of floating around until it gets in range of something to attack, then attack it? Sometimes, the scarab goes the wrong way, then turns back, and explodes before it even reaches the target... And I saw a map where the scarab doesn't explode but I couldn't figure out how to do that.

EDIT: Sorry for double post.
EDIT2: Omg, I didn't see the "Scarab Forever" map at the bottom of the Scarab attacking link... Sorry... again.

Using the Random Suicide Missions AI will make them acquire a target, but that isn't location specific, so you'd need a computer completely devoted to scarabs.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Wouldn't set generic command location and make these units patrol be the best option? Then it IS location specific.

Ok, well, that's probably the best it can be.

EDIT: Actually, I tried the Random Suicide Missions AI, and it immediately attacks, but it just follows the enemy unit around until the scarab explodes. It doesn't explode right when it touches the enemy unit.

Actually, with random suicide mission, the scarab will attack a unit as a normal unit would attack (but without any animation). It seems to make something like 20-40 attacks before finally exploding. It also attacks extremely fast.

Is there anyway to stop the scarab from getting stuck? If you move the unit away, the scarab will be stuck.

Staredit Puckwork

I think a good example of this is WAF R21F. in nanoah's attack it creates scarabs and atacks the whole lower battlefield.although im still a little hazy on how it all works.

Ultraviolet -- just sent you a message on Discord. I suspect you're probably trying to change unit speeds for units that don't use flingy.dat for movement (like any units that walk instead of hovering/flying). You can change their movement to flingy, but they unfortunately look more like they're gliding than walking when you do that.

Symmetry -- EE2, I've been using setdatfile successfully for units.dat and weapons.dat but the flingy changes don't seem to happen
[2026-7-12. : 5:25 pm]
Ultraviolet -- in EE2 you just open DatEdit, go to the flingy tab, and make whatever changes you want. Though if you want to do dynamic shit, you have to use the trigger editor with the setdatfile action. And of course you have to inject your changes when done. Can give more specific troubleshooting advice if you provide more details
