Compressor/Protector?

I seem to be having a problem. Uberation gives me a bad script error but ProEdit works. Thing is when I compress and protect it the strings mess up completely so I have the force names as some of my unit names, heh. And if I protect it only it messed up in the game. HP values are incorrect etc. What's the problem here or what are some better programs to use?

Try all of these programs: TinyMap, OS Map, OS Map 2, PROEdit, Shadow Protector, Special Protector, Uberation 2, Uberation 3, and StarForge.

I would try all of them, find which one makes your map the smallest without bugging it up, and stick with that one.

If TinyMap doesn't work, the creator is still working on it. So you can go bother him.

If OS Map doesn't work, the creator doesn't give a crap, so don't try to bother him :bleh:

Compressing IS protecting for some protectors. Use TinyMap because it's new. :D

meme

I've had some weird cases where I had to go open and save the map in different editors for certain protections and compressions to work without crashing because of string problems. Try opening and saving your map in StarForge before using ProEdit, it never got along with SCMDraft 2 for me. I thought I was the only one who had this problem... apparently not.

Ultraviolet -- just sent you a message on Discord. I suspect you're probably trying to change unit speeds for units that don't use flingy.dat for movement (like any units that walk instead of hovering/flying). You can change their movement to flingy, but they unfortunately look more like they're gliding than walking when you do that.

Symmetry -- EE2, I've been using setdatfile successfully for units.dat and weapons.dat but the flingy changes don't seem to happen
[05:25 pm]
Ultraviolet -- in EE2 you just open DatEdit, go to the flingy tab, and make whatever changes you want. Though if you want to do dynamic shit, you have to use the trigger editor with the setdatfile action. And of course you have to inject your changes when done. Can give more specific troubleshooting advice if you provide more details
