I modified it a bit and used some terrain seen in falkoners terrain compilation
I also tried to get some annoying things out, and add a new look to this melee map
it's still a four player map, but just tell me what you think of it, is it more balanced or the same?

I'll post the obs ver of the map. :]

The sword and the faith

Dont know about the balance, but I like it. However there are a LOT of tank spots/holes. Find em and fix em.

But it's not even KINDA like lost temple.

Give it its own original name they aren't going to be similar. It's like blizzard calling Wheel of War "Big Game Hunters 2"

It actually is like Lost Temple. It looks like it.

Island expos are too big.
The Terran already has a easy time securing the island expo on the original lost temple or any race for that matter

I suggest putting the expo on high ground and allowing some room on low-ground below the high-ground

And main expos would be far to easy to defend, With the high-ground hill between the fanking area and the base it's self too hard for early zerg to attack the terran with 2 cliffs. + Zealot 2 gate would phail on this map due to the 2 cliffs

NudeRaider -- blessed innocent soul knows nothing of the strife we had before EUDs were discovered :teehee:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
