Looking for a good map maker!!

Ok, well I would do this on my own, but I havnt very much time on my hands anymore.

At the moment, im looking for a Map Maker that knows some to alot about StarGate, the show, even someone that plays the game StarGateWars.com. Anyways, the map would be based off the game StarGateWars. Its a complex game, but on SC would be an amazing map! I cant really go into all details here, but I will provide some.

2 Kinds of maps, a regular unascended map, and an AScended Battle Map.

The first (Unascended) map would consist of:
-7 Players, 1 Computer
-Use the dialing like in the other StarGate maps on SC
-Use the Technology Thing from the other StarGate Maps.
-On StarGateWars, theres 1 Mother ship, but with lots of fleets, buy something like a BC, then you can create say Wraiths as its fleets.
-4 Races, you can choose at beginning, Asgard, Tauri, Replicators and Goa'uld.
-Would have to mine for mins, stacked mins on home planets, 7 home planets, for 7 players, but just 3 times or so, only to give a home planet a small advantage over regular planets.
-Have miny planets, with non stacked mins, but are needed for expansion.
-Each race has special units, Replicators have the ability to create mass amounts of units fast,(build time), but at a reletivly descent cost, but are powerful (ground units)
-Tauri would have the ability to create Marines, SG Teams, Malps and such, at a less expensive amount, but cheap.
-Goa'uld would have the ability to steal technology(gain it after so many kills or hidden on some planets), have descent units.
-Asgard would have very powerful ships, very expensive, and good defense, but very weak ground units.

For each race there could be a few heros they can choose from, each giving a destinct advantiage to the races units. Say a player chooses Goa'uld, and chooses the hero Anubis, that player will get the Modified Anbuis Version of the Hatack. more detial to come.

This is just a small bit I could get off the top of my head, gonna have my friend Earendil come here and post soon to to add, but if a Map Maker is willing to give this a try, I would be more than happy to help provide ALL info about the map, StarGateWars, StarGate.

Thanks!

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

How about this: you start working on the map, and when you run into trouble, or need a way to do something, post the problem here. You'll be hard pressed to find someone to actually make a map for you, especially when they have no motivation to do so. Mapping isn't THAT difficult, and you should give it a try.

Also, ditch the 2 MB double sig.

Lol

Well thats the thing, I used to do that with maps. First I have Vista (shakes), and I cannot install old editor programs on here, and second I would really appriciate it if someone could do this.

There motivation is simple, to create a very complex map and be proud of doing it. Its like for me when I learn something new on making sigs, always pushing yourself to a new level, seeing what new and more difficult things you can accomplish.

People willing to spend their time making a complex involved map want the idea to be their own.

Generally.

Well, im more than willing to allow for other peoples input and there own ideas, im not an expert, just putting the idea out there, and would like to see the outcome.

Sometimes I'm being asked by my mapping collegues about ideas for a new map. I'll link them to your topic then. I'm sure they will add a credit like "Idea by: Tetrismonkey".

I really would care if I got credit or not, I would just love to play a map like that.

The creator deserves all the credit! Ive seen it in a few maps after being edited a few times, that the olriginal creators name gets lost or they dont get the credit they deserve. I would prefer that the map, if made, only have the creators name in it.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
