What's the trigger for making beacons invisible, but u can still see the flashing part of it? I tried disabling doodad state but all that did was make it so that u couldn't click on it. Help Please! :???: :???: :???:

Disable it, then give the player vision of it, this could be by using a detector, or by receiving vision from the owner of the beacon.

You disable it and then let the human detect it.

You cannot have the human own the beacon or they'll see the how thing, but rather they just have to have detected it or owned it (which would make it detected) for a little while.

And then remove the detection, of course.

Edit your post to add little snippets like that :P

The most used method is to give vision of the owner of the beacons to the players for a second or so, of course, that isn't possible in some cases.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
