At my last post, I started the story of Frosthell and described it. This thread, which will most likely die (but dont just kill it) is intended to answer and expand through peoples opinions on my developing map.

I have, through problems I decide not to say, been taking a break from it. I WILL RETURN, is what I always say.

Post here if you have any questions about the story line. I will also provide a link to the last forum so people wont get mad at me.

Thanks,
Trigg

Woah

So I'm confused, what's the point of this thread? You want feedback on a map you're not going to finish?

I understand you wrote "to go into detail of story," but that should really belong in the map's production or showcase thread, not in Theory. The issue is you have not provided a screenshot or map info, so I can't move it to Production, and you haven't provided an actual map, so I can't put it in Showcase.

I suggest you either fix the link, or turn this into one of the above two options so I can move this to a better location. Otherwise I'm somewhat inclined to close this. :(

Well sadly my computer is not working very well.
Secondly, I do plan to finish this, but I am having (as everyone else) life situations that need fixing.

The main reason, which is quite understandable if you desire to close this thread, is for people to contribute idea's to my map, people ask questions about the story line (which in turn they could make off an additional map), etc. On the topic of people making a map off of this, I will provide proof that there are such people. Lil-Inferno wanted to make a prequal, inwhich he started, but never finished.

I am sorry the link doesnt work, but what I can do is re-post the story line onto this.

If you think that would be somewhat in the view of being logical, then you can close the other thread "The Story so Far".

Sorry for any troubles,
-trigg

PS: Screen shots will be a toughy. When problems solved, I will try and get inferno to contribute in that regard.

Lastly, be kind and give me time to decide on this. I am also inclined to ask for it to be closed, but I have not had a chance for my mind to clear. Plus my solution seems acceptable, you just give me your feed back.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
