I got the inclination to make this poll after reading the comment thread. Enjoy :)

It varies for each of my triggers. It depends on how my triggers come into existence (like whether they're copied from old existing triggers or newly created ones and etc)

Ultimately as long as the end result is the same (which in my case, is blank comments), then I am satisfied

aka idmontie

Like I've said:

I use javascript to output the text file that I put into my map. Since I am not restricted by strings, I comment every thing VERY well and I create special character sets for drop down boxes. Notepad++ even has greate color coding for easy reading.

My "Preserve Trigger" always goes at the end because I'm crazy.

Triggers, Preserve, Comment; mainly because I used to think that Preserve only worked if you put it at the end.

Lol, same order as Who, back in the days of just Staredit (not SCMDraft) I thought preserve only preserved the things above it. Wonder why I thought that?

Preserve, Comment, Triggers along with one more person for now :) If I make a comment, of course. With this order I can always see if the trigger is preserved even if it have many more actions.

Some.

First one, minus the comment, Triggers then preserve, if I add a comment, it always comes last.

Comment, triggers, preserve.
The way my mind works, I think of what this trigger will do, then I make it do it, then I make it do it more.

i have a very strict order of 'comment, preserve, triggers' because thinking about what actions i'm going to put in is a relatively 'complex' process compared to deciding whether this trigger needs a comment or if it will repeat itself.

Trigger, Preserve, and no comment.

Eh. Actually, I put a null-comment for my two hypertriggers... and it is comment last.

Exactly what I thought back when I used staredit. I use the same order as who does; Triggers, preserve, comment.

Diddo. Yeah I was trying to figure out why I put it that way, I know I was close, but this is exactly it. Also I thought that every trigger after the comment wouldn't work. It's become an OCD thing for me now.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[04:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
[03:47 pm]
NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
