I'm Not Sure Exactlty What To Do In The Blended Units Tutorial.

You preplace a gas tank (or mineral chunks or anything that can be targeted and picked up by workers) to the map.
You hallucinate it a few times.
You pick up some hallus and wait till they get out of life.
You train some units or make some buildings (same type is mandatory and you make better if you train/build 6-8 at a time and set build time to minimal) and kill the workers keeping those things. (they wont disappear even when hallu timer reached 0)

If you do it correctly, some funny stuff will happen, like probe gets a tank cannon, if you dont: game crash.
It is really useless, but very fun.
Many of the units will crash the game no matter how you do it.

I think this crash has something to do with the disable doodad state on units.

You actually get different effects for I think the Khaydarin Crystal... I'd have to talk to Farty again about it.

Also, reasons that Farty gave me for crashing:
[10:39] Saint of Idiocy - while();: If those units have attack animations, you can attack
[10:39] Saint of Idiocy - while();: if it is a unit, you can move freely. If it is a shadow, you can move freely.
[10:39] Saint of Idiocy - while();: If it is an overlay, moving at all crashes
[10:39] Saint of Idiocy - while();: If it is a building, moving crashes

Also, in DatEdit you can find out what it will look like when grabbed by adding I think 174 to the unit you are picking up, here's a Calculator Farty gave me:
http://falkoner.cow.googlepages.com/PowerupUnitsCalc.htm
A list of some units that crash:
http://falkoner.cow.googlepages.com/Crashing.txt
A more specific list of what units do:
http://falkoner.cow.googlepages.com/UnitPowerups.htm
I think this is a list of what units are picked up, not sure though:
http://falkoner.cow.googlepages.com/List.txt

Enjoy :P Thank Farty, not me.

blending units, can't be done with any unit that can be picked up TRUST ME, it is not a mod, and it creates awesome unit looks, and makes the units get a little power boost...

i know devourers do something... but i forgot what they do

Depends on the unit, some units will just crash if you try to attack with them, others, like the Firebat, will attack along with the SCV.

I did it with goliaths. It moved it after I stormed but i couldn't pick up the goliath that moved.

Yeah, once it moves it loses its pickupability and becomes a normal unit again, it's kinda a cool method for extracting units such as scarabs or nukes or interceptors from their holders. Comsat sweep is cool, it's like a flying marine.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
