Hi. I have been slowly learning about EUD's for 3 years. I have only made 3 very simple EUDS, I take notes but still struggle. Naver can't be accessed without living in South Korea, what an amazing source of information that would be, if accessible to me. Anyways, If someone could make a tutorial, link a tutorial, or simply post a Map with a example (everyone locks their maps.... cough UltraViolet cough) EUD to learn from.

I'm simply trying to:

1) Use a EUD to enable/disable tech or upgrades
2) Link a EUD to a unit button set (like a Wraith who can build Marines or a button on a Firebat that moves all units from Location 1 to Location 2)
3) How to reset "Send all units on suicide mission" Ai on computer units (the order can only be used once every 15min)
4) ANY tutorial where I can learn more.

I have read everything on this website about EUD's. I go on the Discord server too. I AM A NEWB. I'm not a programmer. I do this for fun and I'm just trying to learn. Thanks.

Yes I have read those multiple times. A lot seem to use EUD2 and Firegraft compared to EUD3, sometimes it's tough to follow. Plus a lot of things are in korean which i cannot read. A video would be great. only found one single video on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRnfE595lPk

Example: I've been messing around for 2-3 hours simply trying to get a Defiler to spawn marines through a button on the defilers button card. I have tried to many different ways (on EUD3). Flags, Unit Data, Advanced Tab, etc, with no success. Same thing with having a defiler being able to research siege mode.

I'm just messing around trying to figure how to get things to work the way I want them too. It's very confusing.

I'm trying to find tutorials to learn on my own. The tutorials are in korean, use EUD2, or a simply too advanced. I get the Defiler cant research stuff, but i don't understand how I link the command of the button to the defiler command card in EUD3.

I'm trying to follow "Oh_Man"s command card tutorial but I don't see how it translates to EUD3. The button Data specifically.
I haven't found anything on this website about basic code writing in EUD3.

Doesn't someone here have access to Naver and can share the EUD information????? best tutorials by far.... Shame its only accessible to South Koreans...

I seem to be in over my head. I'm just venting out loud at this point -_-

I don't know about naver specifically, but typically I just use a translator to view foreign pages.
Also this looks like a quite thorough tutorial (it's linked from one of the threads I posted). What problems are you having specifically with that? Maybe people will be able to help better with concrete questions.

I'll take this as a compliment that you liked my maps and wanted to learn from them :lol: For what it's worth, I don't actually lock them intentionally, the EUD injection process locks them which is just a side effect of how it's done. I actually would offer to teach you as I have with a few others with some basics, but I'm one of those dastardly EE2 users so I couldn't help you with EE3 unfortunately.

There are several ways to approach this. The first would be to train units directly within the game system, second would be to detect a button press directly or indirectly and apply the desired actions.

Unit ID 72, 81, 83, and 82 (reavers and carriers) can be multiselected and train 1 unit type. Any(?) unit ID that wasn't previously listed can attempt to train units but wont actually do so. Through CUnit you can detect the build queue and apply actions then clear build queue.

You can make fake buttons and detect keypresses through MSQC with selection detection.

Indirectly detecting a button press would involve detecting changes with a selected unit, clearing those changes (when applicable) through CUnit and applying actions. For example you could have stim packs be the button to make a marine. When stim is pressed the unit will have a stim timer >0. Set stim timer to 1 (probably requires it to count down from 1 to 0) and create marine at desired location.

Random suicide mission can be triggered again.

Strategic suicide mission requires the AI to have a town to count down its cooldown timer or something.

These do not require EUDs.
