Forcing AI to build in specific locations.

So I am trying to make an ally who will take forward positions as the game progresses and maintains them. Some defenses and basic buildings and specific locations.
I tried to preplace the buildings, run AI scripts and destroy them to see if the AI will take the positions back, but I couldn't find AI which actually rebuilds lost buildings.

Do any of you know an AI that can do so or some kind of trick to make AI build specific buildings in specific locations?

I am aiming for natural feeling, with it being actually built and needing protection during this time + AI rebuilding it with time when destroyed. I can make it with triggers, but it will be time consuming and simply ugly.

None.

The Curious

You will need to resort to modding, using the AISE plugin to create townlets like that on specified locations with the `create_script` command. If you do, this can be made to happen pretty fluidly.

Trial and error... mostly error.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
