I wonder if you could apply this broodling energy death timer thingy to other units with EUDs?

Result should be something like Stukov's marines with a limited life time, while player can have many of them, all with different timers and maybe even some of the base units without timed life at all.
Spawning group of x units and then killing them all with a trigger after y ammount of seconds will not really work for me, sorry.

Roy's Secret Service

You probably can't give units the energy bar and counter like on broodlings and hallucinations without modding (assuming that's off the table for you), but you can still give the same internal timer with EUDs. After creating the unit, read the "Player Last Unit" pointer (0x006283F8+4*playerID) to get the "CUnit" entry for your last created unit for that player, and at offset 272 of the CUnit entry (i.e. 0x0059CDB8) is the timer that kills broodlings/disruption webs/dark swarms/hallucinations. Add a value between 1 and 65535 to it and the unit will die after that many game frames (42ms per frame at fastest speed).

Wooah this is exactly what I needed. Thank you so much man. While timer could be a nice addition I don't really need it.
You are the man <3.

Edit: And yes I want to stick to non-modded maps.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
