Unlocking a protected map (Wraith Dodge)?

Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this.

I've come across a cool map that's extremely difficult, maybe some of you have heard of it: Wraith Dodge.

It plays more like an arcade style game and haven't seen many maps quite like it. One problem I find that myself and a lot of players online are terrible at it which takes so much of the fun away from the map.

I'd like to test out an auto respawn so that it keeps players engaged and prevent them from leaving as soon as they die.

But I'm not able to open the map for editing. Attempting to open in SCMDRAFT2 gives me an error loading the map "Exception raised while loading the MPQ. The MPQ appears to be in an unsupported format."

I would attempt to remake the map but the creators have done a superb job and used some blackmagic that I'd probably never figure out..

I tried using "Unused Unprotector 2" but was no go. The file it created was much, much smaller and wouldn't open.

None.

We do a little trolling

Map unprotectors aren't officially supported here, but I think we've gotten to an era in SC's history where no one really cares if an old map is unprotected.. particularly if you respectfully leave credit to the original creator. I'd suggest googling SMC 2.88 naver, probably your best chance of getting in.

My Projects:

Impossible Ultraviolet | Impossible UV 2 | Impossible UV 3
Mercenaries 2020 | Mercenaries III
Squad Defense

Legacy Projects (No guarantee of functionality in modern SC):

Pixel Adventure 2 | Space Snipers | Control the Ball

I could have a look at it if the guys over here won't have anything against it.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
