Siege tanks Ai not using siege

Hi All I have made this mass map called desert strike classic. I have a problem that Any other ds maps have too. The problem is that if a player creates siege tanks after a certain amount of units created or a certain amount of units has died, the com Ai player will not use the siege tech on the tanks. Anyone knows the precise reason causing this to happen?

If the siege tanks is created early the com Ai will use the tech through out the game.

Thats why im testing right now to create the siege tanks from start and remove the specific number depending on how many siege tanks the human players created. I hope this will avoid that the siege tanks not sieging if created late in game. Stay tuned for My test results.

If i can fix this My ds will be the first too have this issue fixed

First testing seemed good. So heres what i do, (when units is gonna spawn) before Any other units spawn, Ill create the Max of siege tank at the creation spot (in my map its 21) if the player should spawn 0 siege tank Ill remove 21 tanks if the player should spawn 4 tanks, Ill remove 17 tanks and so on up to the Max spawn of 21 tanks. After this the trigger for the other units too spawn will fire as normal. Take notice that i move units from the locations tank spawn to avoid unplaceable bug and too avoid moving the tank upon creation not sure if that matters tho. This system could be used in other ds maps aswell team CPU defence maps (has the tank bug too) and maybe other maps could use it. This has been a dreaded issue for me for a long time.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new :lol:
