AI and Mining

Hey, another simple question here.

I made some hives, drones, and mineral patches. I am trying to get the AI up and running.

So far I haven't been able to get the drones mining. Anyone have advice on how to set up the AI and get it running?

You gotta use scripts not sure if town scripts Are the right ones You gotta try em out

Alot of the scripts dont run at location, just run them for the players You need affected.

Draw a region around the AI's main building, make a trigger that runs AI script at that location. You can google which script does what but there's no guarantee information there will be accurate - the best way to check is to download PyMS tool set, open default scripts in PyAI and see for yourself, the basic commands used by Blizz are really straightforward.

On the countrary, all of AI scripts need to be run on a location around the AI's nominal (not necesserally the physical one) starting location in order for script to properly function.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
