Getting EUD Triggers to work

I downloaded the new eud editor 2 and also eud draft.

I used it to modify zerg melee upgrade icon to a creep colony icon.

My map doesn't show the EUD trigger, or any other EUD trigger I tested.

Any idea what I did wrong?

When you save using EUD Editor 2, It will create a new map and inject the triggers with all the EUD changes.

Make sure you creating the game with the correct map.

The way EUD Editor makes its changes are through triggers. Placed units are already on the map BEFORE the first trigger cycle. If you are changing graphics, unit sizes, etc of Units that you have place within the map they will not update when the game is created. Everything created after will have the changes applied.

There are some things that change regardless, but its a good rule of thumb to spawn the units you want in the map at the beginning.

Oh yeah I have pre placed zerg evolution chamber on the map, I'll try creating it and see what happens.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
