- DatEdit-level unit property editor
- SCMLoader support for grp/wav/smk.
- JASS with game internals getter/setters

should suffice. Really. That's what everybody's doing.

You forgot Firegraft-like botton modifications which is widely used as well. Also what is JASS?

None.

And if they are adding math, may as well include sin / cos / exp / log / sqrt / pow / etc, very little added complexity for a large amount of added flexibility.
Agreed. It would be good to include floor / ceil / round / random as well, like a basic math library. But of course, we're quickly getting out of the scope they intended with SC:R. It was advertised as a graphical update and nothing more. How unambitious :)

Well they have blown the whole thing to pieces and are trying to put it back together, might as well make it better than before!

Yeah FG

JASS is a trigger system in WC3. I's a complete scripting language so you have function for while struct pointer blahblah.

A proper scripting language would be excellent. So it sounds like consensus is EUD is an exploitable bug and this really boils down to feature requests for the map editor.

It really depends how much manpower Blizzard is putting into this.

Whitelisting certain "safe" EUDs would require minimal effort on their end and might make some old maps work again (e.g. if they only used EUDs for detecting research).

If they're putting more effort in it would be great to get a real scripting language like Lua.

Let me show you how to hump without making love.

And honestly, wouldn't adding a whole new language/conditions/actions be pretty daunting? I just want some minimalistic support, if we are basically asking them to reinvent the wheel after they have already said UMS is not on their radar... What methods are there that are the most minimalistic that give us something akin to what we needed EUDs for is a better question.

They will make new conditions and actions at least. In my knowledge, they aren't making a compatibility layer. They won't support old 1.16 eud maps, but rather they want to officially support eud level map editing capability in 1.18. That'd make some mess.

We here at Korea had contacted them a month earlier, too. (were to be kept secret, but things seems to be publicly disclosed here so maybe we also could? People may copy&paste my postings here so I should be careful about what we're told not to expose), but since we're not native english speakers, we find it hard to communicate with devs. It seems like they're also expecting some major dissection in their code, so I think you guys could throw up radical ideas just fine.

We have that wish list from a while back: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c8mJexKr29IuqqjetPqf-eLLfQEnAPMBiL8BflR04dI/edit#heading=h.ufa6se2mjkr

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
